Shattered Dreams
Attention All Grade Level Students!
We are thrilled to announce that while only the Junior class will attend the Shattered Dreams presentation this year, all students have the opportunity to get involved in impactful ways (see below):
1. Become Part of the “Living Dead” - On Wednesday, April 2, students will be symbolically removed from class by the Grim Reaper every 20 minutes, representing lives lost to alcohol abuse within a 24-hour period. Once the student is removed from their classroom, they will report to a designated area to have white makeup applied to their face, receive a custom Shattered Dreams t-shirt and become the "Living Dead". The student will report to each of their classes, without speaking or interacting with their peers or teachers. On Thursday, April 3, participants will be allowed to attend the Shattered Dreams presentation!
To be considered as a “Living Dead” participant, please submit a creative piece—such as a poem, letter, essay, or drawing—to the nurse’s clinic or Mr. Evans’s office (Room 2257b) expressing one or more of the following:
Why you would like to participate
How drunk driving has affected you or your family/friends
Motivational message to your peers to encourage positive behavior and healthy choices.
**Submit your admission by Feb 21 to Nurse Toni or Mr. Evans.**
2. Shattered Dreams T-Shirt Design - This is an opportunity to create artwork/drawing to be displayed on the Shattered Dreams T-Shirts!!! This shirt will be worn by the “Living Dead” and all that participate in the production. Your art work should represent the Shattered Dreams concept, have no more than 2 colors, and be signed by the artist. The entries will be voted on by the Shattered Dreams committee and the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).
**If you would like to submit a drawing, please submit your drawing by Feb 14 to Nurse Toni or Mr. Evans.**
We look forward to your participation,
--

Lobo Proud
Yearbook
The El Lobo yearbook staff was recently awarded first place for the 2023-2024 yearbook from the American Scholastic Press Association. Last year's yearbook was themed "In It Together'" and focused on Lobos working together in the classroom, in sports and in other activities. This is the fourth year in a row that the yearbook staff has placed first with the ASPA.
Pictured with last year's yearbook and their award are just some of the staff members that designed the book. Front row is Johanna Barranco and Malik Goodman. Back row is Frankie Yochum, Daniel Na, (this year's co-editor); Giselle Gonzales, and Hannah McKinney (this year's co-editor).
This year's 2024-2025 yearbook is titled "Undaunted" and it will be out for delivery in May.
