Leyden hosts Winter Art Show
Leyden hosts the Winter Art Show December 10-12, during school hours, in the media centers at both East and West. In honor of Leyden’s 100th anniversary, selected works from Leyden alumni will be featured. All art students will have at least one piece in the show, and artwork from area middle school students will also be featured. The showcase includes drawings, paintings, photography, ceramics, graphic design, video and motion graphics. There will be a special reception for artists tonight, (Monday, December 9) from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Financial Aid Workshop
Leyden will host a financial aid application workshop for families on Tuesday, December 10, at West Leyden and Thursday, December 12, at East Leyden. Both workshops start at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Leyden families can attend this hands-on workshop at whichever campus and date is more convenient.
Financial Aid Application Workshops are an opportunity for families to receive assistance completing the financial aid application. Financial aid may be used to help pay for colleges, trade school, vocational training, and applying for it is a graduation requirement in Illinois.

Leyden Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee Presents
Spanish-Speaking Families:
Dr. Ferney Ramírez will present "Mission Impossible? How to Build a Positive and Healthy Relationship with Your Teenager" on Wednesday, December 11, at 6:00 p.m. at West Leyden.
Food and childcare services will be provided.
Ukrainian-Speaking Families:
On Wednesday, December 11, at 6:00 p.m. at East Leyden, the Leyden team will discuss student activities and how to sign up for clubs and after-school programs; parent involvement on committees and selecting a field trip for next semester. A festive dinner and holiday crafts will be provided.
Little Leydenettes Registration is open
Leyden Leydenette’s Dance Team is hosting the Little Leydenettes Clinic on Saturday, January 11, in the West Leyden AUX gym from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This clinic is open to participants in kindergarten through 8th grade. All students will practice technique, learn a dance routine and perform at the Varsity boys basketball game at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon. Leyden hosts its annual Yuletide Celebration
The Leyden Fine Arts Department will be hosting its 30th Annual Yuletide Celebration on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the East Leyden Commons. Join us for an evening of delicious warm beverages as we serenade you in our East Leyden Commons. Our carolers will parade you through our beautiful holiday lighting ceremony. Pack the place for Special Olympics basketball
On Friday, December 13, all three levels of Special Olympics Basketball will be playing home games in the West Leyden Fieldhouse. Let's pack the place with Eagle fans and support our athletes! Games start at 4 p.m. with our transition team, followed by our LIFE team and then our state champion BRIDGE team.
Student participates in Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
East Leyden Symphonic band member Emelie Gutierrez was selected to march in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City with the Great American Marching Band.
Chamber Singers perform in Roemont
Chamber singers performed at the Rosemont Tree Lighting on Sunday, November 24.
Girls basketball win Thanksgiving tournament
Leyden Girls Basketball won the Ridgewood Thanksgiving Championship, with a score of 54-37. Congrats to Katherine MacLeod and Nicole Bokuniewicz on being selected to the All-Tourney Team.
Leyden girls wrestlers earn top finishes
Four Leyden wrestlers earned top finishes at the Fremd Girls Invite on Saturday, November 30. Zoey Dodgers took 1st place, Emily Gandar finished 4th, Kayla Vasquez placed 5th, and Sabrina Bono secured 7th.

100th Anniversary Exhibit on display in Franklin Park
The 100th Anniversary Traveling Exhibit, Leyden: Making History, has moved to it's next location. It will be on display at the Franklin Park Public Library through the first week of February. Stop by to view the exhibit during regular library visiting hours.
