Sage Creek News
July and August 2024
WELCOME BACK!
I hope this message finds you well, having fun, and staying cool in the heat of summer!!
I have a few things that you need to know as we approach the coming school year.
1-If you haven't registered your child, please do so BEFORE JULY 25!!
You can do that here. Also, if you know of any families that have their oldest child attending kinder this year, please help get the word out to them to register as well. If you are registered, you will be able to see your child's teacher in Infinite Campus on August 5th!
2-School starts for all Kinder-5th grade the same day this year! August 14 at 9:15!
Drop off is no earlier than 8:45, the bell to go to class rings at 9:10 and school starts right at 9:15. You're welcome to drop your child off at the front of the school and wave "Goodbye" as they walk the red carpet to class. School is dismissed at 3:30 (2:45 on Mondays).
3-Our open house will be August 13 from 1-3.
We have a few extra optional meeting times this day. First time Dual Immersion families meet in the gym at 12:45, and new to Sage Creek Families (formerly known as kindergarten meet and greet) meet in the gym at 1:00. Everyone is welcome to stop by your classroom anytime from 1:00-3:00 to meet your teachers! FYI, Springville library will be here, as will our PTA, both with some great information for you to have.
4-Pardon our Dust! We are soon getting security doors put in the front lobby. When you come to Open House construction will likely have started, but won't be done quite yet. Once they have all the materials, it will go up pretty quick! These security doors will direct all traffic through the front office, and all individuals will have to be "buzzed" into the rest of the school from there.
5-If you aren't following us on social media, do it now! You will see all the fun things the Sage Creek Employees have been up to this summer!
6-If you are interested in being on our School Community Council, please reach out to chelsea.wilson@nebo.edu before August 21st. The School Community Council (SCC) serves as an advisory council to the school administration. It's a great way to be involved and have a positive influence. Parent candidates cannot be Sage Creek employees and must have a student attending Sage Creek Elementary during the 2024-2025 school year. SCC typically meets once per month, for one hour. If more than 3 people are wishing to join, we will hold a formal election.
7-Don't forget to "Add" our school's Google Calendar! This will make it so you can see all of our school events on your own personal calendar (but you can turn it off at any time). You can do this by scrolling to the bottom of sagecreek.nebo.edu, find "Upcoming Events" then click the + symbol.
It will be great to soon have these halls filled with kids once again. "It's a great day to be a dragon!"
SEE YOU SOON!!
Mrs. Youd

Kindergarten Information
If you will have a kindergarten child this fall, please make sure you have signed up for an assessment time here.
Nebo School District wants to support your child in reaching all of their developmental milestones. During the 2024 legislative session, HB 331 passed, which requires a student to be toilet trained before enrolling in kindergarten starting in school year 24-25. We hope that by communicating our policy regarding toilet training, we can help support you and your child with a successful kindergarten year. Please review the following information carefully and reach out to your school administrator if you have any questions.
