Rocket Review - Parents
09/02/24
This week...
We kicked off our Big Kahuna Fundraiser last week. Go to https://bigkahunaprime.net/, click "Register" and enter our Campaign Code: 17917. Once you create your family log in, you will be able to send a link to all of your family and friends and share on social media. Once you are registered online, your child can begin winning prizes immediately! In the past, we have been able to pay for author visits, blow up water slides, and more for our students with funds from this fundraiser.
This Thursday is Open House. It will be an opportunity to learn more about our academic and behavioral expectations in each classroom, learn about the benefits of being a Title One school, and learn more about our PTO! There will be a session in classrooms from 5-5:25pm, then all parents in the cafeteria for Title One presentation and PTO 5:30-5:55pm, and one more session in classrooms 6-6:30pm.
Friday evening 5-7pm, we are hosting Grandparent's Game Night! Join us for game night fun!
Blasting off into a great week!

SEPAC
Good afternoon Rockets,
My name is Maggie Boddy and I am here to introduce myself as your Parent Representative of Rosa Parks ES for the Fort Bend ISD SEPAC this 2024-2025 school year. I am so happy to serve our amazing students and families. Inspired by the hard work and dedication of the educators and parents in FBISD, I wanted to find a way to give back to our districtwide community and serve as a voice for the needs of our children. I look forward to working together with you this year. Should you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. Attached is my welcome letter.

Meal Applications for Free and Reduced-Price Meals opened on August 1, 2024.
The district encourages families to complete the Meal Application online through SchoolCafé. It is a convenient way to ensure that eligible students receive the support they need. Families can apply online at www.fortbendisd.com/fbisd.
Our campus is still under the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) grant that allows all RPE students to receive breakfast and lunch meals free of charge. However, your participation in the completion of the Meal Application forms is necessary for the grant to continue.

2024-2025 School Calendar
Regular school attendance is essential for students to make the most of their education. Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student’s mastery of the instructional materials/objectives; therefore, the student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences. Please view the school calendar attached below.
Attendance Tips for Parents
Students may not be picked up after 2:45 PM.
All excuse notes (whether from a parent, doctor’s office, etc.) must be received within 5 days of the student’s return to school or the absence will be considered unexcused.
Notes may be emailed to cynthia.hernandez@fortbendisd.gov. Any note brought in by a student should be dropped off at the attendance office located in the front office. The notes must include the student’s first and last name, parent signature/date, reason for absence, and telephone number.
If a student is absent or leaves early, a note needs to be turned in within the 5-day limit. Otherwise the absence will be coded as unexcused.
If your child must leave school early, the child must be signed out prior to them leaving the building. You will need to provide ID in order to sign the child out.
In order to sign out a child, the person picking them up must be on their emergency contact list. If not, an email will need to be sent to cynthia.hernandez@fortbendisd.gov with the name of the person who will be picking the child up.
In order to add someone to your child’s emergency contact list, an email will need to be sent to cynthia.hernandez@fortbendisd.gov with the name of the individual and a contact phone number for them as well.
If a student is out more than 4 consecutive days, a note from the doctor is required. No exceptions.
If you receive a call that your child was marked absent in a class and you feel this is an error, please either leave a message or send an email to your child’s teacher about the error. The teacher will then contact Mrs. Hernandez if an error was made. The attendance clerk cannot make any changes without notification from the teacher who made the error.
