Message from Principal Fippin
Hello BCE Community,
We have had a wonderful 2 days. The playground is such a big hit, and we are all so proud of how all the students are following the new BCE WAY on the playground. Thank you, Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Long, for helping ensure all our students knew the rules before our first recess on Thursday. It helped ensure safety and that everyone could play and have fun. We have had several questions about the playground on lowers before 8:10. Please note that even with a parent, the playground is closed until BCE STAFF Yard Supervision is present.
Next Thursday, Back to School Night. We hope to get 100% attendance as this is the time for you to learn about what is expected in your child's classroom this coming year. This is a NO STUDENT EVENT Here is the schedule.
- 3rd-5th- 5:00-5:30-
- All site introductions 5:30-5:45- Upper Playground

Thank you again to the parent club for hosting an excellent Coffee yesterday. It was so great to see so many of you, catch up on summer, and just say hello. It was a great way to start the day, for sure.
This is just a quick reminder that next week is the last chance for your student to turn in summer learning. We are excited about our fun surprise on the 23rd.
We are excited to have new and returning volunteers on campus this year. Remember that the District office must clear you. You need to complete fingerprints, paperwork, and a TB screening. You can get the paperwork at the office. Our district nurse will be on campus at the following times to help you complete the TB screening.
- 8/20- 8:30-9:30- Office
- 8/23- 1:45-3:00- Office
Have a great weekend.

PBIS-
Positive Behavior Support will continue to be a major focus for BCE this year. We will be looking at promoting positive behavior in all ways. We will focus on the BCE Bear Way for the first month. How do we show Be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible all over the campus. Please ask your student how they are showing these behaviors. We will also be giving Bear Paws for good behavior. These will be used like cash at the student store in the coming weeks. More information is to come regarding the store, but it will be very exciting.
Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
Hot Lunch and Bus Passes
We will continue to provide free lunch to all students this year. We do ask that you complete the application on the district webpage. It is very important that ALL families complete this form, as it helps us with funding in several different areas.
If your child will be riding the bus this year and will need a bus pass, please make sure you purchase your bus pass online here. Once you log in to LinqConnect you will see "School Store" on the bottom right hand corn. Click that to buy your pass. Any questions contact the transportation department at 831-336-2223
Please also complete the following form for all students riding the bus.
