Message from the Camp Managers
Tena koutou katoa.
I tumanako matou ki a mahana me ora koutou katoa. We hope that you are all warm and well.
It's been a few months since our last newsletter and spring is in the air. It's been a little quieter here on the campground at the moment however its been a fantastic year with many events and fun times had. We've appreciated the many yarns and laughs that we've had with our campers and look forward to seeing some of you again in the upcoming months. Nei ra te mihi ki a koutou katoa, huge thanks to everyone.

History of Kaupokonui Beach Camp
On 5 May 1980 the Kaupokonui and District Beach Society gifted the beach site to the Crown as a recreation reserve subject to the Reserves Act 1977 for the benefit and enjoyment of ‘in particular’ the people of South Taranaki and NZ . The ‘day to day’ management of the Reserve was delegated to the Kaupokonui and District Beach Society.
The Kaupokonui & Districts Beach Society is a non-profit organisation with the sole purpose to enhance the Reserve while providing affordable camping to the general public. Since that time the Committee, Society members and Friends of the Kaupokonui and District Beach Society have voluntarily maintained the buildings, sought funding from community funding agencies to enhance the beach-camp through a range of development projects.
Without this voluntary support from members of the society and their families who manage the projects, funding, maintenance and property, finance, and media. KDBS would not be able to provide this wonderful facility for community enjoyment.
If you would like to subscribe to become a member of the Kaupokonui & District beach society call into the camp office.
Happy 98th birthday Jessie
Jessie Craig has been the patron of the Kaupokonui & District beach society for many years. Jessie and her late husband, Gordon, built their beach bach 74 years ago and have been associated with the society ever since. We wish you all the best for your 98th birthday year.

We would like to acknowledge the Toi Foundation for their ongoing support.
The Toi Foundation has provided funding to the Kaupokonui & District beach society for a number of years. This has enabled the society to complete much needed work on and around the campground for the benefit of our campers and visitors. For this we are truely grateful.
Established as a Charitable Trust in 1988, Toi Foundation (formerly TSB Community Trust) has played a critical role in the ongoing growth and development of the region. Since its establishment, the foundation has contributed more than $153 million in Taranaki towards charitable, cultural, philanthropic, recreational and other purposes – all of which are designed to benefit local organisations, community and people. Today, they have an ongoing and increasingly important role in supporting our communities to build a thriving, inclusive and equitable Taranaki.
