April : A Fresh Start with Honesty and High Expectations
Dear Families and Caregivers,
As we welcome a new month, we’re excited to share that our Character Education theme for April is Honesty. This is a perfect opportunity to remind our students about the importance of being truthful, trustworthy, and reflective in both their words and actions—at school, at home, and in the community.
We’re also taking time for a reset on expectations as we head into the final stretch of the school year. Our school’s Big 3 expectations are at the heart of everything we do:
-
Make Safe Choices
-
Be Respectful
-
Build Community
These values guide our behavior every day and are more than just school rules—they’re principles we hope our students carry with them throughout life.
With upcoming field trips, celebrations, and other fun events, it’s especially important that we all work together to reinforce these expectations. Please help us by continuing these conversations at home and reminding your child that their actions matter both in and out of school.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
With gratitude,
Dr. J and the UES Leadership Team
Reminder: Dress Code & Weather-Appropriate Clothing
As the weather continues to change, please help us ensure that students are dressed appropriately for the season. We want everyone to be comfortable, safe, and ready to learn!
Just a reminder that all clothing should follow our school dress code as outlined in the student handbook. This includes wearing clothing that is suitable for learning and for outdoor activities like recess.
Thank you for your support in helping our students stay focused and prepared each day!
