Professional Development Series

Please join Jen Havig, Prairie High School language arts teacher, for five sessions focusing on an array of learning opportunities for educators who want to expand their knowledge and skill sets in order to continue to improve as a professional in the realm of education. Each session offers materials, ideas, and strategies which can easily be implemented right away in the classroom. A focus for each session will include how strategies and activities covered integrate into the Danielson framework for TPEP.

4/12/18 - "Learning and the Brain, Part 1"

4/19/18 - "Setting and Maintaining High Behavior Expectations"

5/3/18 - "Habits of Mind"

5/10/18 - "Learning and the Brain, Part 2"

5/24/18 - "Structuring and Delivering Lessons"

All sessions will be held in the Prairie High School library, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Participants will use their learning to make connections to the Danielson Framework via specific examples of how the components of the session fit into the various Domains of the Framework. We will discuss how the strategies in the session connect to instructional best practices and how those best practices are viewed through the Danielson lens. As part of each session, we will discuss what evidence may be observed in a classroom and what may be incorporated into evidence uploaded into Evaluations.

Q: Will I receive clock hours for this course?

A: Yes! There will be 15.0 total clock hours available for attending all 5 sessions. Each session attended will earn 3.0 clock hours.

A: All Certificated staff are welcome!
