The CSD school nutrition department is excited to announce that our Thanksgiving luncheons are coming up soon! To make it easier for families to participate, we have implemented a new online payment system. Online payments will be open beginning Monday, October 28, and close Friday, November 8. Payments may be made through the Parent Portal. Payment instructions are on the CSD nutrition webpage.

Students are limited to two guests. The cost is $5 per person.

Thanksgiving luncheons at ECLC, BHMS and DHS are not open to guests.

Parents will use their child's student ID number as an access code.

The reaction from our students regarding the Plastic Film Drive has been amazing. All materials that already have been brought to school are being separated by house. Remember: The house that recycles the most will earn 20 house points. If you haven’t started collecting items, don’t worry...It’s not too late to begin! The last day to bring items to school is Wednesday, November 6.

Also, we offer a huge “thank you” to all families who have signed up for Ridwell’s home pick-up service. We’re so close to reaching our initial goal that will allow us to earn ongoing plastic pick-ups for the entire school. Learn more at https://get.ridwell.com/talley.

Please join us for our second annual Little Shop of Stories spirit day to raise money for our Talley library's programs and collection development! The Talley library does NOT host a traditional book fair, so this is our big fundraiser for the year. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on November 15! • Thank you to Communities in Schools - Atlanta, our volunteers, and all of you who hosted such creative trunks for Talley’s first trunk-or-treat. We had a blast!
• Our garden committee is hosting a garden work day this Sunday, 11/3 from 8-11 a.m. Bring your wheelbarrows, shovels, and gloves and earn house points for helping.
• Plan for a NaanStop takeout meal dinner on Thursday, 11/7! This spirit night requires an online preorder by 7 a.m. on 11/7, and pickup on Avery St. at 5 p.m. that day. Twenty percent of proceeds come back to the school thanks to NaanStop and Greg Kodesh Realty. Pre-order here.
• Mark your calendars: Walk & Roll is coming up next Friday, 11/8.
• Crossing Guard Appreciation Week is coming up November 11-15. Our Safe Routes to School committee is collecting funds via Venmo (@Mallory-Donaldson) for gift cards for each of our 20+ crossing guards. Please contribute before 11/13. We also encourage students to make thank you cards to hand to the guards on their routes during that week. Contact Mallory at srts@talleypto.org with any questions.
• Talley 2024-25 yearbooks are now on pre-sale! They are $23 through 12/31/24 (when they will increase to $28). Order at bit.ly/talleyyearbooks24. Please consider donating a yearbook (at the same link) to help us reach our goal of ensuring every student and staff member receives a yearbook. Supper & Sips Returns!

Grab your friends and neighbors and help us celebrate the return of Decatur Education Foundation's highly-anticipated fall FUNdraiser - Supper & Sips! DEF was founded more than 20 years ago by a group of residents who wanted to ensure that EVERY student in CSD had what they needed to learn and thrive. Today, DEF's mission remains focused on Decatur's kids and educators, and we are still 100% reliant on the support of the Decatur community. DEF puts the community's contributions where they will have the biggest impact on our students, and DEF's Step Up Circle is a special group of supporters that allows us to operate programs like Lighten the Load, Teacher Innovation Grants, behavioral health support, arts programming, and so much more.
