In the Classroom this week

Reading-This week we introduced what a biography is and spoke about Wilson Bentley. We learned about what a biography is and how we can learn from important people. Next week we will learn about MLK Jr. and learn about timelines.

Phonics- Our phonics we worked on or, ar and ir, ur, er. Please continue to work with them at home.

Math- We are starting our unit on graphs. We are taking poles in the class and graphing our results and answering questions about our data we collected. We will continue that into next week.

Science- taking a break:)

Social Studies- We started our unit on Economics, getting us ready for our Market Place

Writing- We are starting our unit on informative writing, this week we worked on fact vs. opinion so when we learn about an animal next week and write about it they only write about facts.

Character- We are working Optimism this month!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and break! We had a great week, and with them coming off break they did fantastic this week! We had to take our MAP testing this week and they did such an amazing job!! I am SO proud of them and the hard work they put into the test. It is a long and tedious test and they really persevered, worked hard and took their time!

Thank you all for all the you do for me and help with our class, it means SO much!!
