Halfway through May! We are starting to include incoming kindergarten families on our biweekly newsletters to ensure they don't miss anything important for the upcoming year and so they get to know the district better! Our team held a family information night earlier this week geared towards families of 3rd graders... as students typically begin an instrument in 4th grade. Are You Ready For Summer... In Terms of Device Safety?
Throughout the year, students receive lessons on digital citizenship & safety in DPS 109. We know that it can be hard for families to keep up with the latest apps and platforms that kids are using these days. Also, check out the page below for a ton of links and resources about other popular platforms and age-specific advice about what families should watch for and talk about when it comes to technology safety.

Earlier this month, Walden held a wildly successful Fun Run behind their school. It was great to see such a huge turnout! Check out pictures on the Walden Facebook page.

A Revolutionary Debate at Wilmot
Wilmot 4th graders in Ms. Rogers' class took the sides of Loyalists and Colonists to debate the matters of the 18th century this past week. We were VERY impressed with the research they had done! Click here to see a gallery of pictures.

Deerfield Art Festival is looking for Youth Artists!

Open House
Join the Village of Deerfield and Deerfield Park District from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, for a kid and adult friendly Open House at the Deerfield Public Works Facility, 465 Elm Street. Parking is available at the Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm Street.
This event is free for all ages and will feature:
