Eagles Exclamation
Greetings from Prairie View Middle School
Dear PV Eagle Families:
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you rested, refreshed, and ready to embrace all the opportunities that 2025 has to offer. As we return from winter break, I wish all our students, families, and staff a healthy, joyful, and prosperous new year.
Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 7th. We ask that they bring a fully charged iPad when they return. MAP testing will occur January 13-15 in students' ELA and Math classes. Makeup testing will run through the rest of the week. MAP testing helps us better understand your student’s academic performance and growth, enabling us to tailor our instructional strategies to meet their needs. Please encourage your child to do their best and to get plenty of rest during testing week.
The 2nd quarter will end on January 17, 2025. All work for the quarter must be turned in to teachers by January 21st to be included in their final grades for the quarter. Please ensure your student stays on top of assignments and communicate with their teachers if they need any support.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to your child’s education. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth, learning, and success!
Best regards,
Maura R. BaskovichPrincipal

2024-25 Emergency Closing Notifications and eLearning Plan Review
As temperatures drop and winter weather begins, we’d like to take a moment to review our Emergency Closing notification protocols and eLearning Day plan.
If emergency days are needed due to snow or extreme cold, families will receive notification via an email/text message, and an alert will be posted on our District website. KSD 140 also communicates school closure information through the District’s social media accounts and the Emergency Closing Center (ECC). Detailed school closing information can be found here.
If an emergency closing day is needed, the District may elect to use an eLearning Day instead of a traditional “snow day” that has to be made up at the end of the school year. Please refer to our eLearning Day Overview to review specifics of the plan, including school hours and access to D140’s digital platforms.
Now would be a great time to ensure your contact information is up-to-date. Please log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to check your contact information and make any necessary changes.
