Weekly Newsletter - September 20, 2024

Dear 7/8 Academy Families,

Students had a great time at the pep assembly today! This high school cheerleaders and marching band came, and students were able to sign up to participate in class games. It was fun to see the 7th graders’ first experience at a pep assembly. Next week is homecoming week, so please check out the dress up days below. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s school spirit next week.

Attention all 8th Graders!

Informational meeting Thursday, October 10th at 7 pm in the cafeteria at LMS ! All students who sign up at the meeting are guaranteed a seat on the bus June 7th!

Spartan Sport Report

MS Football

8th grade football won their first home game against Linden Grove 24-14. 7th grade football lost to a tough Portage West team 20-26.

MS Volleyball

7th grade A & B volleyball teams fought hard. The A team took a tough loss going 0-3, the B team won going 2-1. The 8th grade A & B teams both defeated Linden Grove and their record is currently 3-0!

MS Cross Country

The athletes are putting in the miles to get better each week!

Student Expectations During Athletic Events

All middle school students MUST be accompanied by THEIR parent or guardian to enter a game. Students who arrive without their parent or guardian will be turned away at the gate, and will not be allowed to enter.

Doors will open half an hour prior to athletic events.

No backpacks allowed
Middle School students must be accompanied by a parent
During the game, students must be in the stands
After games, students will have 15 minutes to clear the facilities.
Students are expected to be respectful and follow the rules and directions from adults who are supervising events

Gate prices:

HS - $7.00 per person - HS students free with school ID - kids 5 and under free

MS - $5 per person - kids 5 and under free

Board of Education Notice

The Lakeview School District Board of Education is seeking applications to fill an open position on the Board. An individual will be appointed to serve through December 31, 2024. Candidates must be residents of Lakeview, at least 18 years of age, and registered voters. For information on the application process, please visit lakeviewspartans.org. The application deadline is September 30, 2024.
