We have had a great week here at Valley Heights! Homecoming 2024 was celebrated in style and every day was filled with fun and spirit! Student Council and their sponsor, Mrs. Sammie Parker did a fantastic job with organizing the days and the student had fun with the different dress-up days. The annual Spikefest, Powder Puff Football game and Bonfire was super fun with everyone have a great time. We just had a very fun and energetic pep assembly prior to dismissal complete with our band and cheer squad performing! The students participated in several contests and the highlight of the assembly was a combined dance and cheer contest with staff and students! As I write my article we still have our Homecoming Parade this afternoon and of course the game with D. West this evening. I will have more next week about our 2024 King and Queen selections, the parade and the dance!

I apologize for being late with this but I would like to say thanks for the birthday wishes during the football game against Centralia. It was a great weekend and I truly do appreciate each and every one of you for giving me a shout out that night!

Activity wise our Lady Mustangs swept every game (Varsity, JV and C-Team) against the Clifton-Clyde Eagles on Tuesday night. The cross-country races at Onaga were cancelled because of the heat on Thursday. Our junior high squads travelled to D. West Thursday night and their practice sessions are beginning to pay off. The A-Team lost their match but the JV squad picked up a win in theirs. The C-Team split their match because they played only two sets. The football team played a very tough D. West team and only trailed at half by the score of 8-6. The second half was a different story as D. West pulled away by the score of 37-14.

With all of the activities still going on this afternoon I am going to cut my article short this week and head over to the parade!
