Because of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception falling on Monday, December 9, we will be conducting Mass on Monday and Thursday (December 12) next week. (No Mass Tuesday).

Thank you to Mrs. Timmermann and her 8th grade for getting everything organized and set up. Thank you to our parent volunteers who were able to maintain the registers the past few days. And thank you to our Middle School students for helping their "buddies" pick some nice gifts out for their families.

The first snow fall of the season came a little earlier than normal. This always reminds me to communicate with you what our procedures are in case we need to cancel school due to inclement weather.

1. We will post our information on Channel 5 (KSDK) AND Fox 2.

2. When in doubt, we will always follow the closing information of the Mascoutah School District. (If Mascoutah is closed, we will be closed).

3. If possible, I will send out a text alert informing of the closing as well.

My threshold for keeping students indoors is 32 degrees. But, occasionally, the kids (and teachers) would like to get them outside for a few minutes to run off some energy.

Therefore, in short, if it is not blistering cold, there could be occasions where we will send them outside for about 10 minutes.

Good luck to our girls basketball team going into the weekends HCS Basketball Tournament. (In it's 41nd year!)

They will take on on Aviston in the championship game on Saturday 12:30. Come show that Apache pride and cheer on the girls!!!!!

Please note that Friday, December 20 is a 1/2-day of school. We will be having AM and PM buses. Bus riders will be dismissed to load on the bus here at HCS at 10:30 PM. The rest of the student body will be released at 10:50 AM.

Our return to school after Christmas holidays will be Monday, January 6 with a regular, full day of school.

This only applies to Pre-K (Cozzi) and any students who were unable to attend the first testing session.

These ornaments are created by the students themselves....from computer design to printer and are amazing! We are very proud to be able to provide this to our HCS Community. Money raised goes right back to the purchasing of 3-D filament (the "ink" needed for these machines).

Cards will be available for purchase after Mass the first three weekends in December and when the school office is open. Additionally, e-gift cards can be purchased anytime/anywhere and once purchased, they can be used immediately for your on-line or in-store purchases.

HCS earns a percentage for each gift card sold. If you are purchasing specific gift cards for Christmas, please have your order in by December 15th.

Kindergarten celebrated Grinch Day on Monday. They made Grinch Hats, read the book, ate a Grinch snack and drank Grinch Floats.

The end of the 2nd quarter will be on our final day of December (December 20). We will have report cards for students to take home on January 10. Remember, you will be able to see your child's grades at any time on FACTs.
