Happy Mothers Day to all of our Bobcat Moms out there!
This was a busy and special week at PCHS. Fun Day on Tuesday, Awards Day on Wednesday, Senior Traditions on Thursday, and another scholarship signing on Friday.
At Awards Day on Wednesday, the highlight was Easton Hutcheson and Luke Garrard earning some serious cash based on their ACT scores. Easton earned $400 and Luke earned $200. Several other students earned cash as well because of their high scores and their improvement from their pre-ACT to their ACT.
On Thursday, our Seniors journeyed to the elementary school for their traditional Legacy Walk. We also added two potential traditions for our STUDENTS (emphasis mine): a Passing the Torch program where Seniors pass an encouraging not to kindergartners and a College/Career Reveal where our Seniors reveal to the student body at large their college and/or career plans.
Friday was also the Franklin County Math Tournament. PCHS did an outstanding job raking in the awards:

Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week. We were able proud to provide lunch from Chick Fil A on Tuesday and Chicken Salad Chick on Wednesday to our staff and our lunchroom workers. Our bus drivers received Jack's biscuits on Friday. Everyone who comes in contact with our students is a teacher in one way or another.
Our Senior Talent Search had their last meeting on Wednesday. We appreciate Mrs. Odom and Northwest for the work they do with our students.
Thursday was School Nurse Appreciation Day. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Diane Baker at our school and the Franklin County School System is lucky to have her as the lead nurse.
We are going to miss our student office aides next year. We rewarded them a gift to the movies this Summer! We thank them for all of their work this year.
Our Seniors did their traditional Legacy Walk through the elementary school. We also tried two new traditions of Passing the Torch (passing encouraging notes from the Class of 2025 to the kindergarten) and College/Career Reveal (students announcing their plans for college or careers post graduation).
Congratulations to Kaylie Motes on signing a golf scholarship with Northwest Shoals. Kalie will get to continue her education and play a sport she loves.
Our Marching Bobcat Band performed their Spring Concert and did an outstanding job.
We had a great showing at the Franklin County Math Tournament this week at Northwest. Our 7th grade team of Uriah Fisher, Matthew Jackson, Jayden Weeks and Jeremiah Wilson finished first. Jayden Weeks won first place in the 7th grade while Matthew Jackson finished second.
Our 8th grade team of Mason Holifield, Jewell Kaufman, Rayna Scott and Jaci Valdez finished in first place. Jaci Valdez finished in first place in the 8th grade while Mason Holifield finished in second place.
