Fulton Early Childhood Center & Pedestrian Trail Crossings
Please be aware of and yield to pedestrians on the trail when entering or exiting the Fulton Early Childhood Center Drives.
The City of Fulton has installed crosswalk signs and will be painting crosswalks to alert drivers of the trail crossings.
Early Identification System
Fulton Public Schools will administer a universal screener to students in grades 3-12 for social, emotional, and academic behavior in October and February. This screener aims to help us identify students who may be at risk and need support with paying attention, completing tasks, regulating emotions, creating positive peer relationships, and managing negative emotions like stress and worry. This screener does not diagnose or identify a student with mental health illnesses or a disability.
During online registration, you indicated your preference for your student to participate or not participate in this screener. If this preference hasn't changed, you don't need to do anything else. If you have questions about your student's participation or if your preference for participation has changed, please call Central Office at (573) 590-8000 before October 4, 2024.
Sexual Abuse Prevention Training
(Middle School & High School Families)
Effective August 28, 2019, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, pursuant to RSMo. 170.045, requires school districts to provide trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate sexual abuse prevention training starting with the 2020-2021 school year. This training is required to be delivered each year to all students in grades 6-12. The school district training includes the following topics:
The district social workers/family school liaisons will provide this training. Middle and High School families will receive more information about how to opt out your student(s) from this training through building communications.
Suicide Awareness and Prevention
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, pursuant to RSMo. 170.048, developed a model policy for suicide awareness and prevention. All school districts had to have a policy in place by July 1, 2028. One component of this policy is that students will receive age-appropriate information and instruction on suicide awareness and prevention starting no later than 5th grade.
District social workers/family school liaisons will present information to students about mental health, well-being, and suicide prevention this school year. Timing for delivery of this content will be shared through building communication. If you have questions about the curriculum or your child's participation, please get in touch with the social worker/family school liaison at your student's building.
