Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025. It has been a fantastic first semester. We have loved partnering with all of you to ensure our students thrive and reach their full potential.

January is a month to reset and reestablish our goals for the year. Students and teachers will work together to set targets and plan for success. We look forward to seeing each student grow in 2025!

Below is information on upcoming events for January. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

A folder will come home with your child on January 28th that includes information about their academic progress in both math and reading. Graphs will be attached to show how your child’s data compares to their peers.

In your child’s folder, you will find the following information:

Reading

• mClass middle-of-year score

• MISD Phonics Survey level

• Grades 3-4 comprehension assessment scores

Math

• iReady middle-of-year score

• Math District Common Assessment score

At home, your child can go through Clever to access MISD online learning programs, Amplify for reading, and iReady for math.

Our attendance goal for this year is 96%. We need your help getting our kids to school and setting them up for success. Good attendance and work habits start now! When your child needs to be out, please remember to send in a note. You can have your child bring it to the office or email our registrar at jkirk@magnoliaisd.org.

Our attendance rate for December was 95.35%. Congratulations to 1st grade for the highest attendance rate, 95.82%!
