CES- Principal Message

Parents,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the snow days and sincerely hope that is the last of them for this winter! Due to the school closures, Tracks 1, 3, and 4 will have school this Saturday, March 1st. The hours of school will be 9:15 to 12:45. Buses will run as normal; breakfast and lunch will also be available. There will be no before or after school care through the YMCA.

FYI: Saturday, April 5th will also be a school day from 9:15 to 12:45 for Tracks 1 and 3 only.

Apex Leadership Fundraiser Program

Due to the snow, we missed a few days of our Apex Leadership Fundraiser Program. The Apex team has generously agreed to stay with Carpenter one extra day this week! Our Glow Fitness Remix for Tracks 3 and 4 will now be on Friday the 28th. The times are as follows:

9:30- K & 1st grade

10:30- ECS

11:30- 4th and 5th grades

1:45: 2nd and 3rd grades

As of Friday Morning, our estimated earned funding is $11,918 of our $25,000 goal! Remember- this is our fundraiser that is replacing the Boosterthon Fun Run. We will not have that fundraiser in the spring. We are raising money for academic programming and campus improvements.

Last Monday, we had a meeting for parents interested in their student testing for SSA. Here is a copy of the presentation that was shared from the county:

Track 1: February 17 - 28

Tracks 2, 3, & 4: March 17-28

Track 4: April 28 - May 9

All test request windows will open at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on the first day of the test request window and close at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of the request window.

Requests to test will not be processed after the window closes.

We are already starting to plan for next school year. As we start making these plans, it helps us to know if your family is moving or going to another school next year.

If you would like to request a track change for the 2025-2026 school year, please provide the information requested below by 8:00 pm EST, March 9, 2025. All forms submitted by the deadline will be given equal consideration.

Completion of this form does not guarantee a track change will be granted.

Track changes are limited by things such as the availability of open seats, number of classes per grade level, staffing, and any year-round middle school siblings. Please keep in mind that there are class size laws we must follow.

Our Apex Leadership Fundraiser started this past week for Tracks 3 and 4! This year we are partnering with a new organization "Apex Leadership" and will celebrate our achievements with an exciting high energy fitness event! Note - this effort replaces our historical fundraising partnership with Boosterthon and the Fun Run. Review the FAQs to learn more and connect with your classroom teachers as they will be providing additional messaging about this important initiative and critical opportunity to support our school community!

If you have questions surrounding your child and the safety of using devices, this night is for you. Childcare will be provided onsite, so you can focus on the information being presented.
