Make your mark! Make new friends! Volunteer for the CAS PTO today!
Hi everyone, we’re Dawn Ellis and Pat Attenasio, this year’s co-VPs of the PTO under Lizzie and Shannon, and soon to be your new co-presidents for the 2024-2025 school year. We’d love to invite you to an informal backyard get-together to learn more about how you can help make the CAS experience the best it can be for your children and for yourselves…all while making new friends in the community.
Dawn and I are friends and next-door neighbors! We joined the PTO last year, because as Mr. Liss said at Back-to-School night, these are the years that matter. Our kids love seeing us on campus and take great pride in knowing we’re involved with all the extras that make CAS so special. Dawn is the mother of three kids, one in high school, one a rising CAS 4th grader and one in preschool, a year away from kindergarten at CAS. I’m a single dad to a rising CAS 2nd grader. We’re both working parents, and we both believe that the PTO is for everyone. Every parent from every background can make a difference. We’re looking for a variety of volunteers for next year, especially our new co-VPS. But whether it’s attending a CAS -sponsored event with your children or volunteering for anything throughout the year, your impact makes a huge difference.
Please join us on Friday, June 7th, 7pm at 121 Greenwood Ave in Madison. We’ll share our experience, discuss open opportunities, and answer any questions you have. With your help, we can carry on the great CAS PTO legacy. We’ve loved doing it, and we’re confident you will, too!
Thanks For Coming Out For Fun Fest!!
Thanks to everyone who joined us Under the Sea for our 2024 Family Fun Fest! It was a wonderful afternoon spent with our CAS family. Special thanks to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers for a memorable event!
CAS Bike Rode-eo coming June 3rd!
3rd, 4th and 5th graders…bring your bike, helmet, appropriate shoes and a smile! This year’s CAS Bike Rode-eo, conducted in partnership with Avenues in Motion, takes place on June 3rd (rain date: June 10th). They’ll be helmet fitting, rider safety lessons, an ABC quick check of your bikes, and of course, bike decorating!
We need your help from 10:20-11am! Click on the Signup Genius below to join in the fun!
Learning Garden Update
In early March all the classes had the opportunity to spend time in the school garden and plant seeds of several varieties of lettuce, radish and herbs. After several weeks of care and rain(!), we are finally ready to harvest the veggies and enjoy the best part - tasting them! We are looking for help from parents to volunteer their time (30mins) to assist the classes with this fun lesson.
Please see the sign-up here Volunteer Spring Harvest. Each class visit to the garden can accommodate up to 3 volunteers, please add your name next to an empty slot in the link.
If you have any questions please reach out to the Learning Garden team casgardenfun@gmail.com.
Please return your children’s library books by May 31!
