A Note from the Principal
Dear Olmito Elementary Families,
Please review the following information for upcoming events and other important information. Thank you for your continued support.
1) Middle of the Year Assessments (E-Circle, MAP Fluency, & MAP Growth)
Students will participate in Middle of the Year (MOY) assessments during the first two weeks of December to measure growth since the beginning of the school year. To ensure success, please have your child present, well-rested, and on time. Below are the assessment windows:
December 16-19 - MAP Make Up Testing
December 16-19 - MOY Reading Spanish (K-2nd Dual Language Classes)
2) Winter Music Showcase
Please make plans to join us for the Winter Musical performances at 6PM on the following dates:
Monday, December 16 - ECSE, PreK, Kinder, and 1st Grade
Tuesday, December 17 - 2nd - 5th, LALU, UALU
Student attendance for this event is optional. Guest limit is 2 adults per child. Thank you for adhering to this limit to make the experience enjoyable for all of our OES families. Also, following appropriate concert etiquette, please make plans to stay for the duration of the concert (all grade levels).
3) Attendance News - Daily Attendance
We need your help to get back into the top 3 for attendance. Please remember that being in school every day enhances your child's readiness skills for tomorrow.
4) December Dress-Up Days
We look forward to celebrating the final week of school before the winter holiday with a week full of festive dress-up days. (Optional) Please review the December calendar below for specific dress up days.
5) Canned Food Drive Dance 💃🏻❄️☃️
The Olmito National Elementary Honor Society will be hosting a canned food drive dance to benefit the Los Fresnos Food Pantry. Please consider donating 5 or more canned food / non-perishable food items. Students who meet their goal of donating 5 or more food items will be invited to the Winter Wonderland Dance on Friday, December 20, 2024 (During the school day!). Thank you for your support.
6) Law Enforcement Appreciation Day - RSVP
Law Enforcement family members are invited to attend a light breakfast at OES on Thursday, January 9th in recognition of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Please RSVP using the link below. Thank you!
