Week at Windsor 9.29.19
Looking back and ahead at Windsor news and happenings...
Dear Windsor Families,
Here is our Week at Windsor. It is difficult to believe we are closing the month of September and will be kicking off the month of October this week. Fall is officially here!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Fall conferences are scheduled for Thursday 10/24 and Friday 10/25. The conference times on Thursday include morning, day, and evening appointments. The conference times on Friday only include morning appointments. Each conference time is scheduled for 20 minutes. We will email all teachers’ conference sign up links tomorrow, Monday, September 30th at 7:00 AM.
If you are unable to make an in person time on our two conference days, you may sign up for a phone conference or email teachers to schedule a phone conference during their regular school days/hours of 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM. We look forward to seeing many of you during our fall conferences!
Door Bell and New Sign In
Please do not be offended if we ask who you are and your purpose in visiting the school when ringing our "door bell" during school hours, even if you have visited us often! These are routine school safety questions. We are introducing a new online sign-in and sign-out form for parents/students. It will be in a similar location to our signature clipboard. The new online process will just help us track attendance more efficiently and hopefully ease the process for students/parents/visitors.
PTA Thank You!
We are so appreciative to PTA for coordinating last week's school Picture Day photos. We have many students and classes. The extra assistance in organizing and supporting the day is valued.
Wishing you a great remainder of your weekend!
Warmest regards,
Piper Boston, Principal
Lindsay Anastacio, Assistant Principal

From the Office...
We like to minimize disruptions to the school day and protect children's instructional time as much as possible.
If your child has left something at home, we ask you to always weigh carefully whether it is something you need to bring to him or her during the school day. If the answer is yes, we have bins located in the front office for each grade level.
- Please note your child's first/last name, Homeroom teacher, and time they need the item by prior to coming to the office.
- You can place the item in the correct grade level bin.
- We will deliver all items to classrooms at convenient times.
If you see a pattern forming in how regularly your child is requesting forgotten items each day/week, feel free to enlist our assistance to intervene in order to support responsible habits.
Cell Phones and Smart Watches
The possession and use of smartphones, cell phones, and other electronic devices (including smartwatches) are subject to the following rules:
- They must be kept out of sight and in an inconspicuous location, such as a backpack, purse, or locker.
- They must be turned off during the regular school day, unless the supervising teacher grant permission for them to be used or if needed during an emergency.
- They may not be used in any manner that will cause disruption to the educational environment or will otherwise violate student conduct rules.
Here are some Common Sense Media links to support families as you consider or introduce electronic devices to your children.
After School Pick Up/Supervision
We want to remind everyone that we have adult supervision during our dismissal/after school pick up time from 3:35 PM to 3:45 PM. All parents/guardians should plan to pick up their children during this window of time. If students are still outside at 3:45 PM, either supervisors will accompany them to the office or they are instructed to report to the school office to ensure safety. Our school office closes at 4:00 PM. While we understand there are unique circumstances, we will reach out if we see a consistent pattern of children being picked up after 3:45 PM because you are leaving them unsupervised.
Windsor PTA
- If you have joined the Windsor PTA, the Directory App is now live. If you are a member, you can access and use it. (If you are not a member, you can still sign up and join the Windsor PTA!)
- Many thanks to all who supported this year's Fall Harvest sale!
