It happened here!
PE Bike Unit
We are thrilled to share that last year, our PE program was awarded a generous grant from Platte County Parks and Recreation. This grant allowed us to purchase a trailer full of bicycles for the Platte County School District, enabling us to introduce the Bicycle Learning and Safety Training program to our PE curriculum. Under the guidance of Coach Crawford and Coach Stapleton, this program has been a wonderful addition to our PE unit, focusing on providing students with valuable experiences in lifetime activities.
For students with little or no experience, the program offers instruction on how to ride bikes confidently and safely. More experienced bikers enjoyed participating in obstacle courses, where they learned crucial road safety skills. These skills included using hand signals to communicate stops and turns, handling rougher terrain, obeying all traffic signs and laws, riding on the right side of the road, and safely checking for traffic behind them.
We are incredibly grateful to Coach Stapleton and Coach Crawford for their dedication and effort in adding this enriching program to our PE unit. Their commitment to student safety and skill development is truly commendable.
Community Leaders
We are delighted to share a special moment from our school. Recently, Platte City Mayor, Steve Hoeger, visited our school to read to Mrs. Kish’s kindergarten class. Mayor Hoeger, who is also Ryker’s grandpa.
The children were thrilled to have a special guest and enjoyed listening to Mayor Hoeger read. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to interact with a community leader and foster a love for reading.
We are grateful to Mayor Hoeger for taking the time to visit our school and make such a positive impact on our young learners.
PE Roller Skating Unit
We are excited to inform you that Siegrist students are currently learning the basics of roller skating during their PE class time! Over two weeks, students are engaging in activities that teach them essential skills such as balance, moving forwards and backwards, stopping, and even how to safely fall. These sessions are designed to be both fun and educational, incorporating interactive games that promote exercise and skill development.
We also want to extend a huge thank you to the PTA and all the volunteers who have generously supported our roller skating unit.
Skate Night
Coach Stapleton and Coach Crawford recently hosted a skating party fundraiser. The turnout was incredible, with many young skaters coming out to support our school. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our students and community and PTA The coaches received a BIG check from the event!
Graduation Walk thru Siegrist
Today was a truly special day at Siegrist! We had the pleasure of welcoming back the Class of 2024 as they walked through their former halls, reconnected with their beloved teachers, and inspired our young Pirates! It was heartwarming to see the joy on our students' faces as they looked up to these role models and imagined their own bright futures.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school community so strong and inspiring.
