ICYMI: Free Teen Heart Screenings
Championship Hearts Foundation is partnering with the Christian Harman Memorial Golf Tournament to coordinate a free heart screening for Bastrop County teens ages 14-18. This year’s event will take place Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bastrop High School. The Christian Harman Memorial Golf Tournament sponsors this annual free event. Named in memory of Christian Harman, a standout golfer at Bastrop High School, who died at age 19 from sudden cardiac arrest due to a hidden heart condition, this screening is to serve the teens of Bastrop County. Cedar Creek HS Theatre Fall Musical - SIX
It was an incredible opening weekend for Cedar Creek High School Theatre's production of SIX! The energy was electric as our talented cast took the stage and brought the iconic story of the six wives of Henry VIII to life with passion, power, and show-stopping performances!
If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s still time! The last three performances will take place on November 14, 15 & 16 at 7 p.m. at the JFW Center for the Performing Arts (1401 Cedar St, Bastrop).

Elementary Jubilee
Come enjoy performances from our amazing elementary school choirs at the annual Elementary Choir Jubilee. The west side elementary schools (BBE, CCE, CRE & RRE) will perform on November 20 and the east side elementary schools (COE, EES, LPE & MES) will perform on November 21. Both shows will take place at 7 p.m. at the JFW Center for the Performing Arts (1401 Cedar St, Bastrop).
Dance Winter Showcase
You don't want to miss this year's Dance Winter Showcase! This annual event will take place on Saturday, December 7, at 3 p.m. at the JFW Center for the Performing Arts (1401 Cedar St, Bastrop). It features performances from BMS, BHS, CCMS, CCHS, Dance, Sugarbears, Honeybears, Blue Diamonds, Eaglettes, & all Ballet Folklorico teams. This is a free event, but you must reserve a ticket here!
BHS Football Headed to Playoffs!
This Friday, the Bastrop Bears hit the field for their Bi-District Playoff matchup against the Lanier Voks!

Winter Blast 2024
Bastrop ISD, in partnership with various organizations, will distribute coats, toys, books, and community resource information on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cedar Creek High School (793 Union Chapel Road, Cedar Creek).
No registration is required for this free event. Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.

Deadline to Register for Hoopstars is Decemeber 2
Hoopstars registration is now open until December 2 for the Spring 2025 season. Practices begin the week of January 27 with games from February 1 through March 8. Teams will be chosen at random. Divisions include PK/K co-ed, 1st-2nd grade co-ed, 3rd-4th girls, 3rd-4th boys, 5th-6th girls, and 5th-6th boys based on the 2024-25 school year. The 3rd-6th grade divisions will have a tournament on March 8.

Empowering Families Through Useful Resources
Thursday, November 14 from 12:30 - 2 pm
BISD Service Center (906 Farm Street, Bastrop)
This workshop is to learn about resources available to parents and guardians and how to support their students. Resources include teaching parents skills to use at home, prep for high school and beyond, college, CTE, resume, military, and job hunting. In this session, you will meet and connect with other parents and school district staff. We will have light refreshments so please join us and bring a friend!
Digital Learning Classes

Please join the Multilingual Department as we continue to learn about technology and how it is used in school. Learn how to navigate your device and use school apps to understand what your student is learning. Participants are encouraged to bring their personal devices. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Bastrop ISD has multiple opportunities available for parents and the community to volunteer and mentor in our schools. Visit our website at www.bisdtx.org/volunteer to learn more and complete the required application.
A volunteer application must be completed and approved if you plan to attend school field trips with your student.
Volunteer Spotlight
As a retired teacher in our community, Mrs. Kreitner volunteers at Colony Oaks Elementary every Wednesday. During her time at COE, she provides math tutoring to approximately 38 of our 3rd-5th grade students during their Cougar (intervention) block. "We are thankful for her time, knowledge, and continued love for educating students," said COE Principal Kristi Kisamore.
