Judson ISD Superintendent Message
March 25, 2024

Dear Judson ISD Family:
I always say that I am proud to be the Superintendent of this incredible school district.Last week, I had some incredibly proud and special moments. First, we celebrated our Distinguished Educators and Novice Educators from every campus. These educators are the best of the best and you can see it in them even when they are not in their classrooms. Their passion and dedication to our students are evident in even simple conversations and interactions. We are truly blessed to have these educators as part of the Judson ISD Family.
The next exciting news is that we now have a name for the district’s sixth middle school! At the March Board Meeting, the JISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name the new school Cibolo Creek Middle School. I look forward to the future as our district continues to grow and thrive with the support of our community, staff and families.
Judson ISD Middle School No. 6 to be named Cibolo Creek Middle School
We are excited to announce the newest addition to our Judson ISD family, Cibolo Creek Middle School!
Thank you to everyone who contributed their ideas and feedback. With over 500 recommendations from our JISD community, the Board unanimously approved a name that reflects the community's geographic area. We are excited to continue building a bright future together with collective spirit and pride for Judson ISD!
Your everyday neighborhood public school has many moving parts. From the custodial staff that are the first to open the doors, making sure the physical building is prepared for staff and students, to child nutrition, who ensure our students are fed, there are many adults needed to make sure the tiny microsome of the community runs smoothly.
The needs of the overall student are vast. And sometimes, the impact of what occurs outside the schoolhouse gates comes onto the campus. It’s no longer what just happens inside the physical classroom.
Enter the social worker, who ensures that both the teacher and student have the resources to tackle all the student’s social-emotional needs - physical, emotional, and mental.
With both a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, Mrs. Joanna Garcia is one of those adults who are vital in ensuring a campus runs smoothly.
“I'm a firm believer that everybody has emotional needs that need to be addressed,” Garcia said. “Some people are more resilient than others and some have a hard time being able to cope with their unfulfilled needs. So, I think I have a great opportunity to be here because I get to help the students and my community.”
Summer School Information
We are receiving an abundance of applications for Summer School and Programs. Thank you to everyone that has expressed an interest in working this summer. Here are a few reminders:
Applications: The approval in Eduphoria only indicates that your application has been received. It does not indicate that you have been hired for the summer. Summer School principals will hire their own staff for each of the designated sites in April.
FAQ List: I have included a list of Frequently Asked Questions and responses to address several questions sent via email. Please click the link below: FAQs for Summer School and Programs 3.20.24.pdf

Announcing the c/o 2024 Judson HS Registered Dental Assistants
The Judson Dental Interns tested Friday, March 22 at the JTECH building for their Dental Assisting licensing certification exam through the UT Health Science Dental School. The dental interns had to pass a timed three-part exam with an 80 or higher on three sections - dental jurisprudence, infection control, and radiology.
We are proud to say that they have continued to carry the torch of a 100% pass rate for the Judson Dental Program for the 14th year in a row. Students have been going to clinical rotations since October at various dental facilities in the community and bring their best to the patients they serve.
“As their instructor, I’m truly humbled and proud to be a witness to the fruits of their hard work and dedication. In April, they will test for their Nitrous Oxide Certification Exam to finish out their senior year.”
A special thank you to our Health Science team who encourage and support our Judson Dental Interns and the program!
