Aviator Updates
SY24 CWFDES Family Issue #26
B WEEK: March 11-15
Greetings Aviator Families.
We had a great time celebrating "Read Across America" week last week. We hope our students' appetite for reading remains strong through the end of the year (and beyond)! This week, we can't wait to host our first Community Gathering. The goal of CG is to come together to talk about the positive and incredible things our Aviators are doing both at school and out in the community. I'm excited to share pictures in next week's update. Stay tuned!
Warmly,
Katie Kortokrax, Principal
Zach Adams, Assistant Principal

5th Grade MISA Testing
The Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) is administered to all students in fifth grade, eighth grade, and high school. The MISA is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
CWFDES 5th graders will participate in the MISA on March 12th and 14th. Please ensure your student gets plenty of sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and is here on time those days.
Duke Writing Club
Ms. Snyder and Ms. Jackson are hosting a writing club for 4th and 5th grade students who like to write, share their writing, illustrate their writing, make books, read other students' writing, etc. We wanted to share some photos of our writing club members at their last biweekly meeting where they did a little writing and a lot of sharing! We are so proud of our Aviator Authors!
Attendance - Every Day Counts!
Our March attendance is looking great (94.15%)!!!! Let's keep it up for the next 9 days so students can earn the school-wide incentive. We appreciate your help in prioritizing school attendance!
