Teachers Get Ready and Students Gear Up!
Planning for Success
Here Mrs. Landeros and Mr. Savaiano plan for the year. Teachers at Dawes often co-teach so the needs of all students can be met in the classroom.
Mr. Leal and Ms. Armas are teaching Algebra together this year. Here they are planning together to make sure they're ready to go on Day 1!
They are looking forward to watching eighth grade algebra students learn and grow over the next school year.
School Safety Reminders
Visitor Check-in
Parents and visitors:
When visiting the school, please note that you will have to stop and sign in at the security desk. You will also need to provide the office with a photo ID card.
Parking Lot Safety
The safety of your children is our number one concern. Please do not walk through the staff parking lot we do not want any child to become injured as vehicles are moving.
Sports Equiptment
Students are allowed to bring limited sports equipment (footballs, soccer balls, volleyballs) to use during recess. However, to ensure safety of students and vehicles, using that equipment on-campus during arrival and dismissal is not allowed.
Deputy Chief Pickens Making Connections
Network 10 Deputy Chief Will Pickens came to Dawes to see the things our students are doing in classrooms everyday. On this day he took a few minutes to engage with students in a game of strategy. We appreciate his support and look forward to sharing with him the amazing work we do this year.
Back-to-School Bash
Students, staff and families had a blast at the Back-to-School Bash at Bogan Park.
Students and their families joined Dawes staff for fun and games at the Back-to-School Bash. Students played games of connect four, miniature golf and more. They enjoyed music provided by a DJ and jumped around in the foam pit.
Helping Hands from the Class of 2025
We have the most helpful students at Dawes! Many of our students came to help set up the Bash. One of our eighth grade students (pictured below) helped out all summer to get ready for the new school year.
