Principal Message - Kanika A. Burks
Good Afternoon MCP: Lola Rowe North Families,
Our Operations Team, led by Ms. MJ: Director of Operations, are often the first voices you hear when you call or the first faces you see when you visit the North Campus. Pictured above are Ms. Wilder, Ms. Peterson and Mr. Rainey. Though you do not see or hear Mr. Rainey very often, he makes sure our building is taken care of inside and out. The next time you call or come to campus, please extend words of gratitude to these three hard working MCP: LRN Staff Members!!!
Remember I told you that our scholars led the Declaration of Excellence (DOE) at All School Assembly last Monday? Well they challenged the staff this week and we were ready. Check out the video below of the staff reciting the words that the entire community strives to exemplify every day.
Next week is Anti-Bullying Week for the Milwaukee College Prep Network. Below are the themes for each day at the Lola Rowe North Campus:

Mindfulness Monday “My Mind Matters”
Blue Day - All Scholars and Staff can wear all blue! Yes, jeans are allowed on Monday! Blue must be the dominate color of all outfits on Monday. Unfortunately staff or scholars will be out of uniform if a shirt is worn that only has blue writing and jeans. Makes sure tops and bottoms are BLUE!!!

Important Calendar Change for 8th Grade Families:
We want to bring to your attention an error on the school calendar regarding the 8th Grade Completion date. Consequently, the final day for 8th Graders at ALL campuses will be on May 31, 2024.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHIEF CULTURE OFFICERS
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In the ever-evolving digital age, social media has become an integral part of our scholars' lives, shaping their experiences and interactions outside the classroom. While we strive to redirect, restore, teach, and model positive behavior within our educational environment, the influence of social media remains a significant catalyst for conflicts and inappropriate behaviors among our scholars.
Recognizing the vital role that parents play in guiding their children through the intricacies of the online world, we believe that your support and understanding are key to ensuring a safe and respectful digital space for our scholars. As they dive into the social media rabbit hole during their time away from us, we encourage you to actively monitor and engage in conversations about their online activities.
To assist you in navigating this digital landscape, we've compiled a list of resources that provide valuable insights into understanding and managing your child's social media presence. These resources cover topics such as online safety, digital etiquette, and strategies to foster responsible online behavior.

By working together, we can empower our scholars to make informed decisions, promote positive digital interactions, and create a safer online environment. We appreciate your commitment to partnering with us in nurturing the holistic development of your child.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
