Dear Sidewinder Families,

The last week of school is here! Can you believe that it's already time to close out the year?! In this special edition of the Sidewinder News, you will find key updates regarding the last week of school as well as some items to prepare you for the 23-24 School Year.

Backpacks Last Day - There are NO BACKPACKS allowed at school on the last day of school. Please plan accordingly.

Outstanding Balances - Please make sure any outstanding balances have been paid before May 17th in order to ensure you receive your student's report card. If you have questions regarding any balances, please call the front office at 602-467-5500.

Movin' on Up Program - On Monday, May 15th, classes will be visiting their new grade level for the 23-24 school year. We look forward to welcoming them to their next grade level and helping them excited for next school year.

6th Grade Send Off Party - 6th Grade will have their annual Send Off Party on Wednesday, May 17th at 2pm. Please reach out to Ms. Gellings or Mr. Hrovat with any questions you have.

Kindergarten Promotion - Kinder promotion is Thursday, May 18th at 9:15am. We are excited to celebrate our Kinder Students moving to 1st grade. Please arrive early or on time in order for the program to begin as scheduled. Please do not bring strollers in order to save space. If you have any questions regarding the event, please reach out to your Kinder Teacher. Please remember, students MUST be signed out from their Kinder Classroom and not taken directly from the cafeteria.

Quarter 4 and EOY Awards Assembly - You're invited to join us for the Q4 and EOY Awards Assembly on Thursday, May 18th at 2pm. We will be honoring our retirees (Ms. Bollinger, Mr. Eastin, and Fire Pal Matt), celebrating Sidewinders of Excellence for Q4, and more!

Variety Show - Tuesday, May 16th at 2:00pm is our annual Variety Show! You are welcome to attend to see all of the amazing talents of our Sidewinders. If you have any questions about how to sign up, please reach out to Ms. Dressman at sarah.dressman@dvusd.org.

6th Grade Clap Out - We will be celebrating our 6th graders with the Clap Out on Friday, May 19th. If you are able to join, please come to the Front Office to line up at 11:30am. You are welcome to bring signs, balloons, etc as desired for your student. 6th Grade will walk through the buildings and end with families in the Breezeway between the Multipurpose and Admin Buildings.

Tax Credit - Did you know you can donate to the school to receive a Tax Credit?! If you'd like to donate, contact the front office at 602-467-5500.

Reporting Bullying Concerns - Please watch this video with more information regarding our Bullying Procedures. If you or your student need to submit a concern, please follow this link.

Community Food Bank - If you or a school family you know needs support, the Food Bank at Constitution Elementary is now open and supporting DVUSD families. The hours are Wednesday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:00pm and is open on Thursdays until 6:00pm.

Volunteering at Greenbrier - Would you like to volunteer?! If you're already Volunteer trained, please complete the form found here. If you are NOT Volunteer trained, please visit the District Website to find training dates and times. If you have any questions or need any help signing up to volunteer, please reach out to Jamie in the Front Office at jamie.jaffe@dvusd.org.
