On Thursday, our students will participate in Hawkfest! This field day will be filled with fun, snacks, and time with their classmates. While students will be given snow cones, popsicles, and waters, they will also have the opportunity to purchase snacks (cash app or regular cash) from the Hawk PTO during their rotations. Students will still need to be in dress code, but will be able to wear hats and sun glasses. All students should apply their sunscreen at home due to students with allergies being on campus. It would be good if students brought a water bottle or sports drink with them to stay hydrated.

For the last five years, Mrs. Lawson has served Harby Jr High as principal. She strategically mapped out a plan that grew the campus's State Academic Rating by two letter grades, doubled staff satisfaction on culture surveys, and grew campus leaders that resulted in district recognition. Harby Jr High has been blessed by her leadership.

Mrs. Lawson has begun the process of transitioning into a new role within Alvin ISD. She is excited to serve as the Director of Special Education for Alvin ISD. She will continue to be on campus through the end of the school year for any parent or community member that would like to give her some well wishes.

At this past Tuesday's Alvin ISD School Board meeting, Mr. Teal was named as the new principal of Harby Jr. High. For the past six years, Mr. Teal has served Harby Jr High as an Assistant Principal. Mr. Teal is excited to continuing the vision of instilling a culture of mastery in students.

Mrs. Croxton has been selling yearbooks in the cafeteria each morning and she is close to selling out! Please send $40 cash with your student. The online order portal has been closed.

We are excited to celebrate our 8th grade Hawks! If you student is receiving an award they will be given a notice so they can invite their parent or guardian. If you plan on attending, you must bring a state or government issued ID and check in through the front office. We look forward to seeing you!

We were excited to celebrate student success this past week at the 6th & 7th grade award ceremonies! Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend and see their student be recognized. We had a member of our yearbook class take photos of all the students with the backdrop so we could share them here.

Our Hawk PTO has been doing awesome things around campus! They can achieve even more with the support of caring parents like yourself. An act as small as selling concessions at a game goes a long way in helping our Hawks.
