Bear Creek Families,

Last Wednesday, Bear Creek was fortunate to have a group of fathers come to campus to brainstorm and plan ways to support our Cubs. Thank you for giving time in your evening to meet. There will be opportunities through out the Spring to join this amazing team. Keep watch for timely information to follow.

On Thursday afternoon, there was quite the smell in the building. Stagnant water in the HVAC lines began to waft odor through parts of the building. The line flush stirred up the smell initially but worked the trick to clear the lines. Austin ISD sent a specialized maintenance crew Friday morning to check in on the issue to assure that there are no underlying concerns. Although the smell was momentarily unpleasant in the hallways, classrooms with closed doors were unaffected.

There is no school on Monday. Monday, January 15th in Martin Luther King Day. Our teachers spent time this week sharing the importance of this day and the significant impact Dr. King had for our nation.

On Tuesday, the weather still looks to be quite low. Students will not play outside when the weather is too cold. As for comfort inside the building, I would encourage students to come in layers. Our building may begin the day a bit chilly but become quite warm by the afternoon.

Bear Creek and the PTA are partnering to bring a multi-cultural event to campus next spring and would love more volunteers!
