PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
We know how hard teachers work to make every student feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving their best. Whether it’s through engaging lessons, kind words of encouragement, or the way they foster a welcoming and supportive classroom environment, they go above and beyond every day. Acknowledging this, the Maine School Management Association puts out a nomination call for the Maine Teacher of the Year. This is an opportunity to thank a teacher who has had an incredible impact on your child or school community. If you are interested in nominating a teacher, here is the digital form: Teacher Nomination Form
The students are halfway through the January Challenge: Chain Reaction. It is another fun and creative way to celebrate and promote our 3 Pillars: Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. From asking an adult for help when a situation appears unsafe, showing patience, completing assignments to the best of their abilities, to any behaviors students do throughout their school day, we see kids lifting the school environment and it is a joy to acknowledge it.
Our 3rd Grade participated in an inclusivity dance assembly sponsored by Spark Inclusive Arts, a local nonprofit whose mission is to dissolve barriers and connect people with and without disabilities through dance and the arts. The assembly included a performance, a short presentation, a Q&A with the cast, and a dance workshop for the students. The students were amazing during the assembly. They were an outstanding audience during the presentation and performance. They asked thoughtful questions and during the workshop, they were 100% engaged and let themselves be free to express themselves.
