Track and Field-SAVE THE DATE!

Kindergarten track and field will be on Tuesday May 28th from 9:30-12:00pm. Parents are more than welcome to come and watch. Your child will be in two events along with a group event. More information will come out in the next week or so.

Animal Research

This week we learned about different animals including the hyena, scorpion, octopus, and poison dart frogs. The students had a lot of fun learning different facts about each animal. Today, the students picked their favorite animal and did a watercolor painting.

Ms. Rutter Gone

I will be gone next week on Monday and Friday for some personal time. The students are aware but if you could remind them to come to school showing their "Jackson Pride" for our sub that would be great!

What did we learn this week?

Reading: We did some non-fiction research on animals. We learned lots of fun facts and did a painting at the end of the week.

Writing: We continued working on our narrative writing. These are stories that the students have experienced. We have talked about writing a beginning, middle, and end in our story. We also talked about adding interesting details to our story so it would be more fun for our readers.

Phonics: We learned the poem "Weather Fun" and the students found rhyming and HFW. We also worked a lot on reading and writing blends in words.

Math: We began working on how solid shapes can make different pictures and how to be creative with those pictures. The students did a lot of thinking and sharing their ideas.
