Principal's Update
Mustang Families,
At O. Henry Middle School we are all about our middle school students’ participating in experiential education. We closed out October strong and proud. Here are just a few highlights from this past week:
The Library hosted our Scare Fair Book Fair-- so many of our Mustangs left the library each day with a book in hand and we are on our way to meeting our Million Minute Reading Challenge.
Career and Tech students visited ACC for a showcase .
Spanish students created Ofrendas for Dia de los Muertos.
7th and 8th Grade Football Teams played in City Championship Games.
Girls Basketball season started on Thursday.
All “A” Honor Roll students were recognized on Thursday.
Beginning Orchestra students played on Friday for C-Lunch students.
Our Cheerleaders hosted a Spooktacular school dance on Friday night.
On Saturday our Mustang Band participated in District and many are advancing to Regionals next weekend.
Be sure to check out our social posts for pictures and become a follower of our stories.
November will be a short three weeks before our Thanksgiving Break. We have lots to be thankful for on campus. Through fall-fundraising goals during Round Up, OHMS PTA has helped us add to our campus department budgets and outside learning environments, cultural enrichments, and scholarships for more field trips. Do you have ideas for our OHMS PTA and Campus? Please share ways in which our Mustangs can continue to receive our world-class education and extension experiences.
This is also a time of the year to send a note of kindness. Consider sending a shout-out email to a staff member or even submitting a positive note at RAVE.
Make it a great week to be an O. Henry Mustang!

Camp O. Henry acceptance letters will be handed out through 8th grade science classes on Monday 10/30. We are so excited about the number of students interested in attending camp, and we were able to accept 125 8th graders to head to Marble Falls with us in January for a few days of outdoor education, team building, and fun! Applications are now closed, and we have started a waiting list.
If your child is accepted to attend camp, they will bring home a packet of forms and information on Monday. Please look through this packet carefully.
There will be a required parent/guardian and student information meeting on November 8th at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria.

Regular Bell Schedule 2023-2024
Transportation and Traffic
Car Riders: To keep traffic flowing, follow the arrows on the map below. Be patient, student safety is our most important priority. To keep our Mustangs safe, do not drop off in back bus lot. If pickup is altered due to bad weather, a Schoolmessenger alert will go out from the Principal.
Bus Riders: Bus riders may only ride their assigned bus. Use the Bus Finder page to check which route you are assigned. Buses leave promptly at 3:57 PM each day - information about late buses will be available in coming weeks. Buses drop off and pick up on the east side of campus. For additional questions about transportation see AISD's website here.
Walkers/Bike Riders: If walking or biking to school please be safe and use crosswalks to get across streets. Bike racks are available for student use.
