CMEA Weekly
November 7th, 2024
THANK YOU to our community for really turning out for our Boosterthon fundraiser! Thank you to parents, donors, volunteers, teachers, staff and sponsors for a great fundraising event. We set a lofty goal this year and got close to hitting $30,000, ending up with around $24,000 - that’s so awesome! Even though we fell a little short of our goal, the kids will still get to celebrate a successful fundraiser by watching our teachers and staff race in inflatable costumes (date TBD)! If you have any inflatable costumes that we could borrow for the race, please let us know!
Congratulations to Ms Squire’s third grade class for collecting the MOST donations and earning a pizza party!!
Halloween
Last week was quite the week, but thank you to all the parents who helped make sure their kids had awesome Halloween parties in their classrooms! The teachers and staff got so creative with their costumes and it was so much fun watching them parade
around and enjoy the parties with their students. Every year, the PTO votes on which costume was the best, and this year the winner was first grade teacher, Ms Dew! You can check out our Facebook page to see all of the great costumes.
PTO Meeting 11/8 @ 8:45am
Our next PTO meeting is TOMORROW, November 8th, at 8:45am in the cafeteria. Please join us to give your feedback about Boosterthon, hear what the teachers and staff had to say, and help us make a plan for next year (hint: we’re switching things up!). Donuts will be provided!
Turkey Drive
Each year, thanks to help from Melissa Park and Traci Kennedy, our Student Leadership team organizes a turkey drive, and this year you can drop off frozen turkeys in front of the school after school on 11/13 and before school on 11/14. The class with the most turkeys donated will win a prize!
Spirit Night
Treat yourself and your family to an easy dinner while also supporting Copper Mesa at Freddy’s Steakburgers on November 14th!
SCRIPS gift cards
For several years now, the PTO has organized an easy way to give back to our teachers and staff for the holidays with the SCRIPS gift card program, and we are bringing it back again this year! Keep an eye out for info on how to send gifts to your teachers between November 15th and December 6th.
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers for two upcoming events:
The Daughter Dance Committee will need volunteers for set up, during the event, and clean up on January 27th. Keep an eye out for a sign up coming soon.
The Spring Fundraiser Committee is looking for volunteers to help plan the event, reach out to businesses about silent auction donations, event day help, and more! There will be a committee meeting at Starbucks on Red Cedar on November 20th, after drop off. Please join if you can!

Got a knack for party planning? Love reaching out to local businesses? Looking to get your hands dirty (We know for a fact there are some interested dads out there!)?
We are always looking for volunteers for Teacher/Staff Appreciation, our Daughter Event, our Son Event, School Beautification, our Spring Fundraiser, etc. If you would like to volunteer with PTO in any way, please let us know.
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students): Ongoing
Watch D.O.G.S. is a program that gives dads the opportunity to spend either a half or whole day in the building with their children. You will help in classrooms and go to lunch and recess with your child.
The purpose of the program:
- To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is essential.
- To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. All dads are encouraged to be a Watch D.O.G.S. Dad at least once a year.
KING SOOPERS CARDS
One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year our total donation received is in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so, it’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.
