PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, May 17th
Next week, our amazing 5th Graders take the stage on Tuesday and Wednesday to perform Disney's Frozen Jr! They have worked so hard on this show (as have their parents) and I can't wait to see it.
On Tuesday, May 21st we will also get to celebrate our former Patton Panthers as they come back to walk the halls of Patton School this year! This is always one of our staff's FAVORITE days at Patton! It's always so fun to see how much these kiddos have changed and what our Panthers look like when they become Huskies!
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is officially open! You should have received an email from the district with a link to register any returning students for the 2024-2025 school year! Please complete registration as soon as you are able - it really does help us with our planning for the upcoming school year.
Please remember that next week is a short week as Friday, 24th May is a SIP day so students will not be in attendance next Friday.
I hope you all enjoy the wonderful weather we will be having this weekend!
Ellie Chin

MAKE A WISH - WALKATHON FUNDRAISER (NEW POST!)
I am delighted to announce that this year, our Walkathon, in aid of Make a Wish, raised a whopping $8171.09!
This is just AMAZING! I cannot tell you how emotional this made me - especially after getting to meet Wren and her wonderful family a couple of weeks go.
It makes me so proud of our wonderful Patton community that we could come together and raise such a lot of money for SUCH a great and worthy cause. THANK YOU for always being so generous and for making these fundraisers so fun and worthwhile! You are all THE BEST!
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! (NEW POST!)
We want to take this time to express our deep gratitude to all the many parents, grandparents, and other caregivers who have volunteered their time and energy to support Patton School. Your contributions are invaluable and we greatly appreciate all that you do. You help make Patton the amazing community that it is, and it wouldn’t be the same without all of your effort, and the thoughtfulness and care you bring to all that you do. We thank you for helping make Patton a safe place from drop-off to pick-up in all kinds of weather. We thank you for volunteering in the LMC, in classrooms, with special projects, class parties, field trips, sharing about your careers, grade level events such as the 5th grade musical, field day, contributing and giving your time, your expertise, your generous donations to support and appreciate the staff, your generous contributions to varied service projects, volunteering for PTA events, the list goes on and on. We thank you for your invaluable partnership. Please join us the morning of field day, WEDNESDAY, MAY 29th as we take our turn celebrating you! We will be providing "grab and go" treats and drinks to say THANK YOU for all you do for us!
ABC/25 FOUNDATION FUN FAIR - VOLUNTEER NEEDED! (NEW POST!)
Do you want to kick off your summer in style and create a core family memory by representing Patton at the ABC/25 sponsored Fun Fair on Saturday, June 1st? We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help put the FUN in fun fair! We are in need of someone brave and with a sense of humor to go in the dunk tank for around 15minutes. If you like water and dropping from a small height depending on the whim/aiming ability of a child, this is the opportunity for you!! If you are more athletically inclined, how about truly testing yourself by taking part in the Mascot Race dressed up as our very own "Paws the Panther"? You will forever have bragging rights because, really, who else amongst us will ever be able to say that they have a "personal best" time racing as a giant blue Panther?
If you are at all interested in showing up for us at this event please email Mrs Dunning and let her know which role you would prefer to help us out with! We would be forever grateful!
Students NOT returning to Patton for the 2024-2025 School Year (NEW POST!)
As we plan for 2024 - 2025 school year, it will help us to know if your student (currently in Kindergarten - 4th Grade) will not be returning to Patton. Please complete one form for each student by clicking HERE or on the blue button below. Please contact Mrs Hamilton at chamilton@sd25.org if you have any questions.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT INFORMATION (NEW POST!)
Thursdays’s District Dish included information about advanced placement. Parents of 3rd-5th graders please take note of the information that was shared.
Each spring, students in grades 3-7 are considered for placement into Advanced Math and Advanced Language Arts classes for the following school year. The criteria for placement can be found on the Advanced Learning page of our district website. After the final MAP testing window closed at the end of April, student data was calculated, and placement decisions were recently finalized.
Only families of students who are new qualifiers to Advanced Math (grades 4-7) and Advanced Language Arts (grades 6-8) will receive letters via email today, Friday, May 17th. A student enrolled in an advanced course this school year will automatically be enrolled for next year. If you receive a letter and do not wish for your child to be enrolled in an advanced course, please contact your building principal or Katie Paulson at kpaulson@sd25.org.
The FAQ document contains answers to commonly asked questions. If you still have questions after reviewing it, please contact Katie Paulson at kpaulson@sd25.org.
