Add/Drop - Semester 1
Our school counselors have been working hard to ensure that each student has a course schedule that reflects their needs and plans for the future. It is understandable that some small changes made need to be made as we get into the school year. We will ask all students to follow their schedule as it exists through Friday, September 6 to allow students to experience all their courses. If there are changes that need to be made students can make these requests of their school counselors until Friday, September 13 - this is the deadline for the Add/Drop period of Semester 1.
MHS Student & Family Handbook
As you make final preparations for the school year I encourage you to review our MHS Student & Family Handbook (linked below) - please pay specific attention to the areas of Attendance, Student Conduct, Use of Cellular & Electronic Devices, & Prohibited Items. Equally important are sections related to Programs at MHS, Extracurricular Activities, Synergy StudentVUE and ParentVUE, & School Citizenship. Thank you for reviewing the components of the handbook as a family unit. We will review many of these components with students in class meetings and Mustang Time conversations over the first few weeks of the school year to ensure all students are educated surrounding their responsibilities for safe and successful school attendance.
Take care,
-Mr. Thurlow

Grade 9 & SRTC Students Only Day - Tuesday, September 3
A. Grade 9 students only will attend MHS on Tuesday, September 3 as a way to help our newest Mustangs to familiarize themselves with the building, learn where their classrooms are and who their teachers are, and to feel more comfortable when the rest of the student population joins us the following day. We will help students run through all eight of their blocks, play some fun activities and games to build school spirit, and provide time and opportunities for staff to get to know our Class of 2028.
B. Upon arrival students will have the opportunity to eat breakfast and staff throughout the building will help students find their homeroom teachers where the full agenda of the day will be explained.
C. SRTC students will also attend this day. Students with their own transportation may arrive on campus to make the bus leaving for Sanford and they may leave upon arrival back at MHS.
Special Schedule - Wednesday, September 4 (All Grades Attend)
Thursday, September 5th is a GREEN DAY
Friday, September 6th is a WHITE DAY
CONGRATULATIONS MR. LABBE!
Mr. Labbe recently completed a four month Basic Officer Leadership Course as an Officer in the National Guard. Mr. Labbe trained, and competed, with 100 other Lieutenants stemming from the National Guard and Active Duty Officers from the U.S. Army. Based on all the exams, physical fitness tests, shooting/marksmanship competitions, and land navigation challenges Mr. Labbe was named the Honored Graduate of the class with an overall GPA of 95.34 - the top of his class! What a tremendous and impressive achievement! We are incredibly proud of Mr. Labbe with this latest achievement and recognition - his leadership skills with the National Guard will translate well to his role as the Coach of Culture & Accountability during the school day, and of his role as Football Coach and Wrestling Coach outside of the school day. Once again, congratulations Mr. Labbe!

Calling All Businesses, Industries, & Community Partners!
Massabesic High School is hosting an Annual Career Fair on October 23, 2024, from 7:30-11:30 am in the school’s gymnasium.
Our goal is to inspire the youth in our community to be Career and College ready. It is important for students to explore different career fields in a variety of interest areas or even explore options they have not yet considered. The Annual Career Fair enables students to connect with local companies and helps spread the word about your company and job openings.
We cordially invite you to be a part of this great event. If you are able to join us, you will be responsible for running a booth and discussing with students your workday and the skills and education needed to be successful in your particular career field. If you have any flyers or job postings available, this would be a great opportunity to bring them.
If you are interested in representing your business, please complete the form linked here.
Please feel free to email Marianne Stephenson if you have any questions mariannestephenson@rsu57.org.
