A Message from our Principal, Mr. Pflugrath...
Dear Osbourn Family,
We wrapped up another amazing week at Osbourn High School! Last week, we were able to celebrate our counselors, kickoff Black History Month, enjoy our All-City Choral concert, and cheer on our winter sports teams. We enjoyed talking with all the parents that participated in parent-teacher conferences. Please feel free to reach out anytime to your student’s teachers, counselors, and administrators. We love to hear from you.
This week we have an early release on Wednesday, February 14th at 12:20 pm. We invite you to come out and see the Band concert on Thursday at 7 pm in the auditorium. We wish our winter sport athletes all the best as swim is competing in the State Championships and Wresting & Track in the Regional Championships.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
#OneOsbourn!
Sincerely,
Mike Pflugrath
Principal
Osbourn High School
Our glow is Mrs. Luz Kresge and our Positive Change Ambassadors. Get ready for a week of spreading kindness throughout our school! We have special events planned, and we encourage everyone to participate and embrace the positive impact of being kind. During the week, a special message about kindness and its positive effect will be broadcast to students and staff during the morning announcements. PBIS will distribute flowers to wear for spirit day. On Tuesday February 13th, wear purple to show your willingness to be kind and friendly with others! Make sure you wear your purple flower! Positive Change Ambassadors will host games during lunches. Don't miss out on having your picture taken in your purple attire!

Deadline to Register: March 1, 2024
Tardy Sweeps!
Being on time is essential to creating a positive learning environment and minimizing distraction. Osbourn High School will continue with random tardy sweeps.
Students who are identified as repeat offenders of our attendance-related expectations will be assigned detention. Administrative interventions will increase for those who continue to not meet our expectations which are in place to ensure the safety and security of all of our students and staff. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support with our efforts to optimize teaching and learning at Osbourn High School. Please discuss with your student(s) the importance of arriving to each class on-time.
FAFSA Updates
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Update
This year, the Department of Education has retooled the FAFSA. While the process delayed the FAFSA's availability , it is now open in what they are calling a "soft launch period". The good news is that it should be easier to complete and it should give more students access to Pell Grants. Please read through the following information from FAFSA website prior to starting your FAFSA.
The 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is available periodically as part of our soft launch. During the soft launch, the FAFSA form will be available for short periods of time while we monitor site performance and form functionality. We will initiate pauses for site maintenance and to make technical updates as needed to provide you with a better experience.
You can complete the form to apply for financial aid to help pay for attendance at college between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. You will have plenty of time to complete the FAFSA form. If you do submit your form during the soft launch, your information will be saved, and you won’t need to resubmit your form or any related information. If your form is unavailable when you or your family members try to access it, please try again later.”
AVID
AVID is excited to begin accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year. Applications can be found in the Eagle Newsletter, your grade level schoology courses, and the Osbourn website banner. AVID is a college prep program for students that have the drive and determination to go to college, but need additional support to make this dream come true. Many, but not all, AVID students are academically in the middle, earning As, Bs and Cs before joining AVID and many are one of the first in their family to go to college. Applications are now open for current 9th and 10th graders only. To learn more about AVID, please visit the Osbourn website or have your student visit their grade level schoology page. You can also reach out to the AVID Director, Mr. Ball. Over the past 10 years of being an AVID school, 100% of Osbourn AVID graduates have been accepted to college because of their academic successes and individual determination. Now it’s your time to fulfill your college dreams. Apply today.”

PTSA After Prom
Help your OHS PTSA create a fun and safe experience for our students to enjoy after the OHS Prom in April 2024.
Statistics show that Prom/Graduation time can be one of the most dangerous times for teens. The OHS After Prom will provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment for our teens to enjoy a memorable night.
Over 300 students are expected to participate. We would like to offer this event for free so they can enjoy a night of fun and entertainment with activities, music, and food. We made it happen in 2023 and can do it again with your support.
