PCK Weekly Newsletter
February 1st, 2024
May 2nd, 2024
We are in the final stretch of the school year and May is set to be a whirlwind of activity. Our school calendar is full of fun events including the Shrek theater performance, field trips, the science fair, concerts, picnics, 8th grade graduation, kindergarten continuation, field day, and the PTA Ninja Warrior party just to name a few. There's something for everyone and we hope you are planning to attend!
As we gear up for these events, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. Your participation in these events not only enhances your child's experience but also strengthens our school community as a whole.
We eagerly anticipate seeing you in the building during the last few weeks of this school year. Let's make May a month to remember!
Are you planning ahead? Check out our 2024-2025 academic calendar on our website. We recommend scheduling family vacations during our school breaks and extended weekends whenever possible.
End of Year Parent Survey
Please take a few minutes to complete the End of Year Parent Satisfaction Survey. Your valuable feedback is integral to enhancing our program's standards and ensuring its optimal operation. This anonymous survey should only take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your insights are greatly valued and will be carefully reviewed by the School Accountability Committee (SAC). Any necessary recommendations for improvement will be made based on your input. Thank you for contributing to making our school the best possible place for our students.
Health Room Reminders:
Parents, please pick up any medications from the health room by June 1st, 2024 or they will be disposed of before summer break. Here is a link to the Health Room page for new order forms for next school year as new MD orders are required each school year. https://www.ckcs.net/current-families/health
Please bring in any updated immunization records or exemptions after July 1st, 2024 to be compliant for next school year.

An Opening Ceremony will commence at 8:55 AM, where all countries/classes will participate by carrying a torch around the park to their designated stations.
Field day activities will commence promptly at 9:00 AM. Please remember to bring your own water bottle, as only water jugs for refills will be provided.
Consult with your teacher to determine the appropriate colors to wear according to your assigned country/theme for the day.
Girls Who Code
Over the course of the last five weeks the PCK Girls Who Code Club was busy coding in Scratch. They made four projects during our meetings: Unicorn Rush, Wheel of Fate, Scratch Cat Says, and Avoid the Asteroids.
Have your child check them out and encourage them to modify (remix) the existing projects.
The girls were also busy coding our friendly Dash robots. What better way to get excited about computer science than having a robot race!
Earth Day Fun
Thank you to all of our Earth Day presenters - CSU Extension, Parker Water, Water Ambassadors, Core Electric and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Each grade was exposed to different conservation efforts through the presenting partners, and students were able to engage in hands-on activities that reinforced the character trait of resourcefulness and conservation.
Science Fun
Spring has sprung in the Elementary Science lab and a lot of hands-on learning is happening! Chicks were hatched to support the Kindergarten unit on life cycles. The 5th graders are in the midst of experimenting with hydroponics supporting their unit on plants. Praying mantises are about to hatch, which is exciting for all of our students. Finally, 4th graders will be doing their cow eye dissection to support their units on light and the anatomy of the eye.
