Many schools host Veterans' Day events in the morning on November 11th. LEAP shuttle buses will still run from the home school to the Idea Center at the standard time (8:45 am). If your child wants to stay for the Veterans' Day events, they will be excused to arrive late to LEAP, but you will need to provide your own transportation! Please reach out if you have questions.

Veterans' Day Assembly
Please see the flyer above regarding our plan for Veterans' Day--Monday, November 11th. If your child is interested in being in the Reader's Theater encourage them to reach out to me, but I will also be visiting the classes in the next few days to recruit readers. All interested family members and friends are invited. Adults must bring an ID to check in. We suggest arriving a little early or stopping by the previous week to get your visitors' badge. The book fair will also be open before and after this event. Please plan on being cozy--seating will be tight.
THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING!
Dear Families,
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent
reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: November 11, 2024 to November 15, 2024
Location: Lindbergh Idea Center
Family Event schedule and location: Friday morning, November 15th…More information to come.
Families may shop from 3:35-4 pm any day of the week.
There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage: https://scholastic.com/bf/lindberghideacenter
While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds. When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called
Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books
from the Fair. Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. I hope you’ll join your child at our school’s Fair and share a reading experience they’ll remember forever.
Happy reading,
Dr. Tracy Bednarick-Humes (Gifted Coordinator and Idea Center Principal)
PS: Need one more reason to visit the Book Fair? Every purchase at the Fair benefits our school!

Parents, periodically have your child login to Canvas in front of you (or log in as your child) to see what they see. You can see all the assignment instructions, learning materials, and retake information. We encourage you to talk with your child about how they use Canvas to access learning information and manage their work completion. This is a great way to check in to see how they are doing!
