What happened to September?
The high school is in full swing! Our athletic teams, performing arts groups, clubs and academic teams have done a fabulous job representing Unionville High School. They continue to make us proud!
We were excited to start the year celebrating the Class of 2025! We opened the Senior Lounge for study halls and lunch and learn. We are also proud of the 55 students that received recognition as National Merit commended and semi-finalists. The 55 students are the most students we have had recognized at Unionville High School. OCTOBER 16th SCHEDULE
11th GRADE- PSAT/NMSQT
All 11th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 16th. All 11th-grade students are registered for the PSAT/NMSQT. These tests are on a digital platform, and students must take the PSAT/NMSQT on their school-issued Chromebook. Please remind your child to bring their fully charged, school-issued Chromebook to school on Wednesday, October 16th. Testing room assignments and additional information will be emailed to students and posted in the building.
In preparation for testing day, UHS will hold a Digital Readiness Check during English classes on Tuesday, October 1st. Students will complete the Digital Readiness Check on their school-issued Chromebook. In these sessions, students will become familiar with Bluebook (the testing application used for these exams), confirm the accuracy of their personal information, and verify that their device is ready for test day. Students will log in to Bluebook with temporary credentials, complete the exam setup, and access a test preview.
Additionally, students can use the College Board Student Guide to prepare for test day. The PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide is linked here. Students should review this guide carefully to prepare for the digital readiness check and PSAT/NMSQT testing. In addition to the student guides, www.sat.org has other useful resources, including practice tests and access to Khan Academy, which is a free online test prep program.
PSAT/NMSQT TEST DAY EXPECTATIONS
PSAT/NMSQT testing will begin at 8:00 am on Wednesday, October 16th. Students will report directly to their assigned testing room upon arriving at school. Testing room assignments will be emailed to students and posted in the building. Standard testing (including administrative procedures and scheduled breaks) takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. Students will attend Lunch & Learn after testing concludes, with an adjusted schedule for afternoon classes.
SCHEDULE FOR 9th, 10th, and 12th GRADE

9:00 am -10:45 am- Senior Assembly - Auditorium (Includes ordering Cap & Gowns, confirming names for diplomas, Senior Class Picture)
October 17th Lunch and Learn Lockdown/ Evacuation Drill
Conducting a drill during Lunch and Learn will provide students and staff with the chance to practice their response to an emergency situation. Responses will look different based upon the location of the situation. Creating situational awareness is an important part of our emergency response plan.
We will be providing specific directions to students prior to the drill and we will also provide a reminder parent communication prior to the drill.
School Safety Updates
We are also required by PA School Code to complete monthly emergency drills where we practice evacuations, severe weather, and lockdown responses. We are required to evacuate the building monthly as a part of our drills.
When we need to communicate instructions to students and staff, we use common language to communicate our status. The handout below outlines how we respond to certain situations.
Winter Keystone
Unionville High School will be administering the Keystone retakes in the month of December. The dates are listed below. If your student is in need of taking the Winter Keystone, you should have received an email. The exams will be administered online this year, and students should ensure they have a working Chromebook. They must use their school issued device for the state assessment.

Keystone Tutoring
In preparation for the upcoming exams in December, all students will have access to a Canvas Course with review materials to help prepare for the exam. All students will be imported into the Canvas Course in October. We are also offering a series of review sessions for students to supplement the Canvas Course. While not mandatory, we believe students will find them helpful in preparing for the exams. Unionville High School faculty will conduct the tutoring sessions. Each session will cover a different topic and be held during lunch and learn.
Freshman Seminar
The first sessions included Freshman identifying their "fans" at the high school and other school supports they can access. We also discussed activities, clubs, and performing arts opportunities students may join.
Click the links below to view some items shared with students at the last seminar.
