Tracking The Huskies

Hewitt-Trussville Baseball defeated Gadsden City 6-2 on Friday night to move to 2-0 in 7A Area 6 play. The Huskies are now 22-1-1 overall on the season. Baker Green pitched a complete game and struck out 15 batters. Matt Miller had two hits and drove in a run. Baker Green had a hit and drove in two runs. Riley Quick and Brooks McRae both had a hit and drove in a run.

HT started the scoring in the 4th inning. After Ethan Duhon and Kurt Kizer reached on errors, Matt Miller recorded a hit to drive in Duhon. Baker Green followed with a hit to extend the lead to 3-0. The Titans scored a pair of runs in the 5th inning to cut the score to 3-2. The Huskies extended the lead in the 6th inning as they added three more runs. Riley Quick and Brooks McRae each had two out doubles to score runs.

The Huskies will take on Vestavia this week in a pair of Area games. HT will host the Rebels on Tuesday night at 6pm and will travel to Vestavia on Thursday.

Hewitt-Trussville Softball improved to 27-3-1 overall on the season with a 14-0 win over Oak Mountain Monday night.

Sarah Hindman pitched a complete game and struck out six batters. Olivia Faggard was 4-4 at the plate with four RBI's and two runs scored. Kenleigh Cahalan was 3-4 with three RBI's and three runs scored. Hannah Dorsett had two hits and scored three times. Riley Rudick added three hits.

HT will be back in action at home Tuesday night in another area game against Vestavia. First pitch is set for 6pm.

Hewitt-Trussville Outdoor Track & Field traveled to Scottsboro over the weekend for the Scottsboro Invitational. The HT Boys finished 1st out of 17 teams and the HT Girls finished 2nd out of 16 teams.

Hewitt-Trussville Soccer will be back in 7A Area 6 play on Tuesday night as the Huskies host Gadsden City. The HT Girls will play at 5pm and the HT Boys will play at 7pm.

Hewitt-Trussville Volleyball has announced tryout dates for the upcoming Fall 2022 season. High School tryouts are open to rising 9th-12th grade TCS students. Middle School tryouts are open to rising 7th grade and 8th grade TCS students.

Hewitt-Trussville Bowling is set to host tryouts for the 2022-2023 season. Tryouts will be held May 10-12 from 3:45pm-5:15pm at Sparetime in Trussville. Rising 7th grade-12th grade TCS are eligible to tryout. Hewitt-Trussville will field a middle school team and high school team next season.

HTMS Softball won four games over the weekend and finished 2nd at the Metro Tournament. The Huskies finished with a 18-8 overall record this year.

HT started the tournament with a 18-3 win over Bumpus. A loss to Thompson sent HT to the loser's bracket, but the Huskies were able to put together three consecutive wins. HT beat Homewood 10-0, Bragg 6-5, and Thompson 5-3 to reach the championship game. Coach Jim Bailes' team fell to Berry in the tournament final.

HTMS Girls Tennis placed 3rd as a team at the 2022 Metro Championships last week. The HT Boys and HT Girls combined to place nine student-athletes in the semifinal round.
