FLMS Weekly Update

Good afternoon, FLMS Community,

Today we had our Term 1 Honor Roll Star Celebration. Students in all three grades were able to find their "star" on the Walk of Fame (in the main atrium), autograph it and take pictures with friends. It was a great time. We will continue to celebrate achievement in a number of ways here at FLMS throughout the year- whether it's perfect attendance, excellence in the arts or sports, or our weekly CARE awards, we try to celebrate hard work and resilience here. I will share a few pictures here, and will share the full set of pictures from the event soon with Advisory teachers so they can share these with their students.

Also, Basketball season is upon us.. soon! We will have 8 home games here at FLMS, and invite any students who want to cheer on their classmates to do so- but those who want to do this NEED to have permission from parents to stay after and watch the games. Here is a GOOGLE FORM that parents should use to give permission for students to attend any or all of the games (parents need to select the games they give permission for). If a student does not have permission, we will make sure that they make it home safely on the bus as per usual. Thank you!

We have two and a half days left next week, and then it's ON to December!

2.1 grade update is on 11/15

Quarter 2 grades close on 1/13/25!

12/12- Half Day for Students, PT Conferences (link to be shared for time slots)

12/20- Half Day- Winter Recess Begins

From the entire Guidance Team, we want to thank all who donated to make this Thanksgiving Turkey (see above) "full" of feathers and fixings! It takes a village and I am so happy to say that we will be helping families to have a bountiful table this holiday season to gather around with family.

Basketball:

As we roll out the Winter Basketball season, I will share here the home game dates. The expectation for students to attend these is the following:

• Please use this GOOGLE FORM to let us know that you give specific permission for your child to stay for the game/s (you will be able to select any one or several).
• Any student who wishes to stay after to watch the boys and girls games (they begin at 3PM) will sit in the cafeteria from 2:05 to 2:55 while awaiting the start of the game. Students will be held to the same behavioral expectations as while school is in session. If a parent has not given permission via the above form, we will make sure that they are not staying, and are heading home safely.
