CELEBRATIONS
Great things are happening at WCS!
On Tuesday, our second-graders put on a beautiful concert of songs on the theme of birds and flight. Students had the opportunity to play a sample of instruments including, chimes, glockenspiel, and a variety of drums. We are so proud of our students- We appreciate the bravery and hard work that went into making this concert a success!
OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS
Overdue notices and bills have been generated! Notices and bills (bills on bright orange paper) are printed and sent home for students in grades K-5, and are emailed to students in grades 6-8. Students are reminded of overdue books weekly. If a student gets a bill, their library account is frozen until the book comes back (or is paid for).
April vacation is a great chance to look around the house and see if any WCS library books have been hiding at home.
APRIL VACATION NEXT WEEK
ROYALTY DAY
In recognition of our students following expectations, displaying excellent behavior and acts of kindness, and earning over 500 "Woolwich Way" tickets, we celebrated our Wildcats with Royalty Day this Friday. Students and staff dressed in their finest and walked the red carpet to class. They were also treated to a royal lunch including fresh flower centerpieces, classical music and lemon water (served by Queen Dimbleby!)
ASSESSMENTS FOR GRADES 3-8
Between April 14th and May 30th, students in grades 3-8 will take Maine Education Assessments in Literacy and Math. In addition to Literacy and Math, 5th and 8th graders will also take the Science Assessment between May 12th and May 23rd.
You can help your child by making sure they get a good night’s sleep, arrive at school on time, and eat a healthy breakfast at home or school.

Things to Talk About
The Student Leadership Team has raised enough money to replace the Gaga Ball Court! Talks are currently happening to decide where this recess favorite will be installed. Learn more about Gaga Ball HERE.
Running Club will begin when we return from April vacation. Grades K-2 will practice on Mondays 4/28 through 6/2. Grades 3-5 will practice on Wednesday 4/30, and then Tuesdays 5/6 through 6/3. Students need to be picked up promptly at 4pm after practice.
This is it! There are only 7 school weeks left this year! We fit a lot of fun into these next week weeks, with field trips and school events, and would love for you to join us! Please be sure that your annual volunteer application is approved so you can chaperone your choice of school event or field trip. CLICK HERE for the application!
On Friday students in grades 3-5 participated in an interactive assembly put on by SPARK Inclusive Arts. They learned about diversity and inclusion in dance and movement, and had a chance to consider how dance is inspired by emotions that we all share.
