Cortland Eagle Express 💛🖤💛
February 17 - February 21

February 17 - February 21
Message from the Principal
Thank you for your continuous support! Please continue to make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. We kindly ask that you send in a coat, hat, and gloves each day with your child. The weather seems to change daily, and it is very helpful if your child comes to school dressed for the conditions. As a reminder, we go outside if the feel-like temperature is 20 degrees or above.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Mrs. Lister

Progress Reports - Monday, February 10th
Please log in to your Harmony Family Access portal and access your child’s progress report. We are halfway through the third nine weeks of the school year. Please ensure that your child has all of their work turned in on time so they can prepare to start the fourth nine weeks of the school year on a positive note. This is also a good time to ensure your email, cell phone number, and cell phone provider are up to date and all registration forms are marked with a check mark showing completed. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Just a reminder, these are not mandatory dress-up days. Parents have the option for their child(ren)
to participate every day, only the days they would like their child to participate, or not at all. This is
entirely up to the parent/guardian.

Health Room information
Teach your child the importance of handwashing and refrain from touching their eyes, nose, and mouth.
Remember students need to be fever free without medication for 24 hours prior to coming back to school.
If your child is sick or has a temperature of 100.4 degrees, please keep them home. Contact the school office to let us know.
Make your child's health concerns known to the school nurse. Also, notify the school nurse if any new health issue arises with your child during the school year.
Bring current, signed healthcare provider orders for treatments and all medications to be given at school. All medications must be brought in by the parent/guardian and must be in the original container.
All medication to be given at school must have a signed consent form. This includes cough drops.
We will communicate your child’s visit to the nurse's office through Harmony. Please check your emails daily and make sure your email is up to date.
Doctor's Appointment Notes
If you are taking your child for a doctor’s appointment please make sure to turn in the doctor’s note to the office.
Turn in when you bring your child to school
Send the note with your child the following day
Take a picture of the note and email it to Mrs. Bonita Kleber kleberb@scsc.k12.in.us
Doctor’s office can fax a copy of the note 812-522-6164.
If your child has been tested for Strep, Flu etc, this note will let us know when your child is able to return to school. Plus, we marked these as Doctor/Dentist Excused on attendance. Without the doctor’s note they will be marked as Parental Excused for attendance.
