Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-
We’re closing out 2024 with a great deal to be thankful for and more to look forward to in 2025!
I’m sure every generation experiences something like this…but, I can’t help but think about all the things that were predicted to happen or were portrayed in movies from the 80’s, that would happen in the 2000’s. As a kid back then, 2025 was just a number and an idea and, according to the movies, we’d be in flying cars and robots would be taking care of us. So- the Terminator, from 1984, was set in 2029… The Jetson’s from way back when was set in 2062. Of course, they had Rosie the robot, flying cars, and talk to people through the TV…. My point is, we’re a quarter century in on our next 100 years and a lot has changed and it has seemingly happened very quickly!
So- speaking of robots and such, our Falcons Robotics Teams swept their competition last weekend as they teamed up in the final match to win the applied competitive robotics challenge, and more importantly the TEAM award for inspiration, teamwork, and all-around best performance! Way to go team!
Cheer also posted the highest score last weekend at their state qualifying competition. And they nailed it! With a score of 85.1, they handily qualified for state and bested the competition by almost 10 points! We’re so proud of our RHS Cheer Squad!
We enjoyed a festive week of holiday and Christmas music from our band, choir, and orchestra during their concerts this week. When I hear them play and think about recordings I hear throughout the holidays, I can’t help but think how amazing the music is that they create. It’s truly unbelievable, how talented they are and how fortunate we are to enjoy performances of this quality right in our own high school!
A huge Thank You to the Ridgeline Falcon Boosters who treated our staff to an amazing Holiday breakfast yesterday morning. This time to eat and be together as a whole staff is so rare and important in our work. Just having the time to eat, and talk, and laugh together is inspiring and uplifting. I had way too much bacon strips and sausage links, but it was so good! We so appreciate our Boosters and support of our community—Thank You!
To meet my newsletter deadline, I have to have it complete before our final Holiday Assembly this afternoon. Like most of our assemblies, I’m sure we’ll have a great time wrapping up the year together, and I’m sure I’ll have stories to tell in my first newsletter back in January! We have a great crew of ASB officers this year who have embraced leadership and leading by example and not being afraid to be out in front of the student body and sometimes doing what’s uncomfortable to create culture and memories for us all!
Please SAVE this edition of the Flyer in your Favorites, so when you’re getting ready to send the kids back to school in January, you can get a quick reminder of important activities and opportunities coming up!
We are all looking forward to the Christmas season ahead and a little time off to regroup and enjoy our time with family.
We hope you do the same and have a Happy Holiday’s and a Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas!-- Mr. Hardt

The FAFSA is an online federal form that, once completed, will offer your student the opportunity to be considered for grants, work-study, scholarships, and student loans at the colleges and universities to which they've applied. Graphic Arts 1 student
Thank you to Emily Fry, in-house Graphic Designer, from STCU for spending three full class periods with the Graphic Arts 1 and Introduction to Marketing students on Monday, December 16th to share her expertise in the graphic design field. It was good for the students to hear from Emily, a 2024 SFCC Design School graduate how they will be able to take the skills learned in both of their Business and Marketing courses and apply them to any career they choose. She also talked about what it looks like to work through the graphic design process from finding the inspiration for a project to creating finished deliverables. Emily passed around her beautiful graphic design portfolio so our students could see what a professional physical portfolio looks like. Hers was bounded with thin pieces of beautiful wood engraved with her original custom personal brand logo. They were impressed.
We are always grateful for the industry professionals who offer to speak to our students to provide them with valuable information they can use to make informed future career decisions. Our Falcons asked some good questions, too! Thanks again, Emily! You gave such great career advice to our students.

Way to go CHEER!! They're heading to the State competition on January 23rd-26th!
Falcon Robotics
The Falcons Robotics teams achieved incredible success at this past weekend's regional event! In a spectacular showing, our two teams swept the competition, taking home the top four trophies. This outstanding performance secured both teams bids to the semi-final event on January 11th. The teams won Best Robot #1 and #2 honors and won two Best Overall Teams. Congratulations to our talented robotics teams on this remarkable achievement!
Falcon Artists
Check out the Impressionist Group Grid Artworks from Mr. Genther’s Painting classes! Each student is assigned one tile for the painting and the class has to work together to make color recipes for unity, and communicate with one another to match shapes and lines with neighboring tiles. Although each student and tile has its own artistic style, they all unify together to create one whole image. Look around the school for these and other group grid paintings!
