Introducing the 2024-2025 School Year!
On behalf of the entire Laker staff, welcome! As we open the doors to this new year on Tuesday, we’re excited to build upon the strong foundation of service and partnership that our school has established over the years with our community and parents.
This year, we invite you to join us in embracing our theme: "Start a Ripple, Make a Wave." As a staff, we are committed to focusing on the small daily actions and interactions—the ripples—that, over time, will have a significant impact on our students, families, staff, and the wider community. As we embark on this new year, we encourage you to consider how you, too, can partner with our teachers, office staff, PTA, and administration in positively influencing our school’s service to students.
We are honored to have the opportunity to teach your children. As the year progresses, please feel free to keep open lines of communication with us. We would love to hear how we are doing in making Emerald Hills Elementary a place where kids love to learn.
-Sincerely
Corey & Brittney
Silent Dismissal
Just like last year, we'll be using our 'Silent Dismissal' system. This technology enables us to efficiently communicate each day's dismissal plans to teachers and students, based on the instructions you, the parent/guardian, provide. Be sure to bring your silent dismissal number with you to pick up your student from the car zone as well as the walker pick up zone. Displaying your number on the dash of your passenger side window will allow quick scanning and a smooth dismissal.
Thank you for promptly returning the pink sheets with your child's dismissal procedures. Having this information early is incredibly helpful as we set up the system.
To ensure the system runs smoothly, we rely on timely communication regarding any dismissal changes. Please make these arrangements directly with the office—not with classroom teachers—and make sure to do so before 3:00 PM on the day of the change.
Car Drop Off/Pick Up
While car drop-off and pick-up will be very similar to last year, you will notice a slight change. We will now allow only one lane of moving cars, reserving the lane closest to the sidewalk as a student-only area. This adjustment may slightly impact your daily routine, but it is made with student safety as our top priority.
Thank you for helping us continuously improve our safety services for our students!
