Quote of the Week in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month
Carlos Humberto Santana Barragán is an American guitarist, best known as a founding member of the rock band Santana. Santana began playing the violin at age five; by age eight, however, he had switched to the guitar. As a teenager, he played in bands in Tijuana, Mexico, where he was exposed not only to the local norteño music but to blues, especially to guitarists T-Bone Walker and B.B. King.

Join us for an inspiring presentation by Chaz Perez titled "Turning Pain into Passion." Chaz’s journey from a student in Special Education to an internationally recognized speaker has spanned over twenty years and four continents. He has created transformative moments for diverse audiences, including students, human traffickers, orphans, addicts, TEDx audiences, and leaders from various fields. This special event will bring together EL parents and students for a unique opportunity to hear Chaz’s powerful message. Don’t miss it!

What?
Pali Institute is an innovative outdoor program offering educational experiences near California’s gorgeous Lake Arrowhead and San Bernardino mountains. During their field trip, students will be able to experience learning from a whole new angle.

When?
April 23rd-25th (Wed-Fri of Spring Break)
Who?
Open to TJMS students, but is limited to 25 students.
Students will be selected on a first come, first serve basis pending approval.
Students MUST have no discipline issues in order to be approved to participate.
Cost?
This trip is free to TJMS students.
The trip is all inclusive, meals and cabin lodging are provided.

We NEED You in Class on Time!
- Every Tardy Counts
- 5 Tardies in a Week = Lunch Detention List
- Tardies Count Across ALL Class Periods, Not Separately
Uniforms and Dress Code Enforced
Uniform Expectations:
Top: Red, White, or Black collared polo style shirt
Bottom: Shorts or Pants
- Shorts must be finger tip length
- No holes above finger tip length
- No Pajama Pants
- No Sagging
Shoes: Student must wear close toed shoes that wrap all the way around the foot
Parking Lot and Traffic Safety
Traffic Flow During Pickup/Drop Off
- When picking up or dropping off students, please do NOT stop in the outer lane of the drive way. If you need to stop and wait for your student to get in or out, please pull as far up as possible and stop against the inner curb (school side).
- We must ask that all families drive safely and carefully while in the school parking lot.
Walking Student Safety
- Students should NEVER cross Jackson street except at the cross walks where they are protected by traffic signals.
- Please speak to your students if they walk to ensure they always walk to the cross walks.
