Principal's Message
Happy Friday Cougar Families!
Thank you for all of your support in helping us to celebrate all that our teachers and staff do to support our students and community at large. They are the backbone of our organization and it is never a bad time to thank them for their service.
In an effort to enhance the ability for families to provide feedback to the school, we are exploring a platform called Possip. Our first Possip survey ran last week and I am happy to report that we received responses from 530 families.
We appreciate everyone who participated and we learned that 96% of you are happy or mostly happy with STEELE CANYON HIGH SCHOOL this week. This is very encouraging to us and affirms the efforts we are making to achieve our vision where each person feels safe and welcome.
Additionally, we received many examples of praise, appreciation, and feedback or questions. Below were some of the main themes that the survey produced.
Praise for the excellent communication from staff and teachers
Praise for teachers and staff members who hold students accountable
Requests for the school to offer more cultural events and work to make all students feel included
Feedback about offering more technical courses such as financial planning, welding, home economics, and auto maintenance
Feedback about transportation
Concerns about school safety and substance use
We are taking all of your feedback and ideas into consideration for our future planning and follow-up. We hope to hear from you again on our next Possip Pulse Check on May 21, 2024!
Thanks again for sharing and we hope you have an awesome weekend!
Rah! Rah! Cougars!
