Principal's Update
Millstone Primary School - May 2024
"Spring is nature's way of saying 'Let's Party!' " - Robin Williams
Hello Millstone parents, families, and friends,
Usually, this space would be reserved for thoughtful reflections about the previous month, perhaps a comical quip or two, and likely a motivational message. While that's all well and good, May does not afford me that opportunity because there is so much to cover so that we are all well-informed...so let's get down to business!
Please take your calendars out and plan accordingly with me:
May 3- Grade 2 show <RSVP HERE>
May 6- Grade 1 ice cream party - Winners of the MTFEE "Penny Wars" competition! <Permission Slip>
May 10- PTO Plant Sale
May 17- 1st and 2nd grade Field Day (Rain Date May 22)
🏇May 18- MTFEE/PTO "Day at the Races" Fundraiser (Information flier below- click image for link to event details) 🏇
May 21- Grade 2 Field Trip (wear your class t-shirts)
May 23- Grade 1 show <RSVP HERE>
May 29- PK and K Field Day
I look forward to seeing you all at these events and around town! If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to reach out. Enjoy the spring months and all of the excitement it brings.
Kindly,
Dr. Baker
Principal
AM Parent Drop-off Reminders
For the safety of our students and parents dropping off preschool students, let's all recommit to the K-2 parent drop-off procedures:
- Drop-off and student supervision begin at 8:50am. Students must remain in the car until greeted by a Millstone Primary staff member.
- Millstone Primary School staff will retrieve your child(ren) from the car. Students are not to be let out on their own and parents should remain in their vehicles.
- Cars must remain in line and exit out of the parking lot when the staff crossing guard determines it is safe to do so. Do not pass vehicles that are still unloading children.
- If you pull up to the school at the same time our buses arrive, please pull into the parking lot and walk your child to the crosswalk. Our staff crossing guards will ensure they cross safely and enter the building with their classmates.
We all have places to go and people to see, but the safety of our students is paramount. Thank you for your anticipated support.
